Livia Firth, co-founder and creative director of Eco-Age, says the fashion industry has been turned upside down by the fast fashion business, but that consumers and designers can reverse the trend.     Economist Jayati Ghosh believes a windfall tax is a "no-brainer". "The difficulty is how do you establish how much is windfall? It's very complicated," Ghosh tells FRANCE 24. She is a professor of economics at the University of Massachusetts Amherst and the newly appointed co-chair of the Independent Commission for the Reform of International Corporate Taxation. The ICRICT is calling for emergency taxes on multinational corporations to help deal with the inflation crisis and growing government debt.

  • Hit the road: Citroën CEO on electric car market, supply challenges
    Semiconductor shortages will "still be a hurdle" for the car industry throughout the rest of 2022, Citroën CEO Vincent Cobée tells FRANCE 24. But he thinks 2023 could be a turning point. In the last 18 months, the EU has seen a "substantial acceleration" towards electric vehicles – Cobée says the adoption is "quicker than we expected some years ago".
