Passion City Church Choir Director and Dunkin’ expert Ji Lee joins the guys to talk about the mind-bending, heart-wrenching, genre-defying 2020 Oscar winner Parasite. Do we love it? Do we like it? What does the title mean? What is up with the twist? Is the ending real? And can something be perfect, even if it isn’t our thing?

There’s no fate but what you make, and there’s no movie quite like T2. Is it the best sequel ever made? How freaking amazing is Linda Hamilton? Why does every dumb thing Arnold says work? And what would have made a much better Terminator 3?

Steven finally gets to bring one of his favorite movies to the courtroom, and his friend Yasu helps him out. Anthony marvels and wonders at his first Hayao Miyazaki film and brings his own experience as a musician to bear. Both guys can’t stop talking about how awesome it is to be stretched and invigorated by being exposed to another culture, whether they have all the answers or not. Is Spirited Away a Perfect Movie? Happy Listening!

It’s the premiere episode of Perfect Movie Series 2, and we’re hitting the ground running: with Ava DuVernay’s 2015 MLK biopic Selma. We talk about what separates a good biopic from a great one, how visceral visual storytelling can change your perception of an event, how to respond after you’ve seen a movie that truly moves you…and which aliens we plan to convert this year.

Joining us for a portion of this episode is Donell Woodson, an urban community developer in the historic Sweet Auburn district, the birthplace of Dr. Martin Luther King Jr. and home to the national historic park honoring his legacy.
