This time, we sit down with Buddy and Richard to discuss their experiences with shift work, their mental health, and how we're able to incorporate an effective training regime to address their goals.
Over the past few weeks, I have been putting out research into the effect that shift work can have on our mental health. Part of this includes appropriately actioning and supporting a training schedule that allows breathing space for shift timing, sleep quality, and acute burn out.
On perhaps a good stroke of luck, I was able to get both of the boys in after a night shift so we can get further insight to their experiences at the end of the work week. This makes for a rather humorous and jumbled discussion as fatigue firmly sets in.
