Full Hour | Today, Dom led off the Dom Giordano Program by discussing shots fired by Phil Murphy toward Ron DeSantis after the New Jersey Governor announced and touted an AP course expansion after DeSantis banned an AP African-American studies course that utilizes Critical Race Theory and other controversy re-writings of history. Then, Dom plays back some commentary from CNN’s Jake Tapper, who discussed with Bob Costas whether race was weighing into Eric Bieniemy’s inability to find a job in the NFL, offering commentary of his own, explaining why he actually agrees that there is a systemic issue at play here.
Then, Dom welcomes in Bill Donohue, President of the Catholic League, to discuss the intersection between religion and politics, particularly in light of the coming departure of Senator Dianne Feinstein. First, Dom flashes back to a hearing for Amy Coney Barrett in which Feinstein used ‘the dogma living within’ Barrett as a net negative while vying for a position as a judge. This causes a conversation about the Democratic version of Catholicism and religion, with Donohue pointing to the hypocrisies between Democratic stances on particular issues and their faith.
