Phil Sandoval

In the tradition of brothers who formed heavy rock bands (Van Halen,

Pantera and AC/DC), guitarist Phil Sandoval and drummer Gonzo Sandoval

turned their childhood passion for rock-n-roll into the California metal

band Armored Saint. Tours with Metallica, Scorpions, Quiet Riot and

many others helped cement Armored Saint’s reputation as one of power

metal’s most enduring and beloved bands. We talk to Phil Sandoval about

all things past and present, including Armored Saint’s latest album,

“Punching the Sky.”
