• SEPTA's largest union has less than two weeks left on its current contract. Union members will hold a strike authorization vote later this morning at the Sheet Metal Workers Hall on Columbus Boulevard.
• Vice President Kamala Harris is back in Philadelphia today. The Democratic presidential nominee is going to a Black church and a barbershop in West Philly as part of her effort to reach out to Black male voters. Harris will also greet community members at a North Philly Puerto Rican restaurant.
• Vice President Harris’ campaign is bringing a host of stars to Philly to rally her support. There have been multiple get out the vote events throughout the city this weekend, with Hollywood stars like Leonardo DiCaprio, Robert De Niro and Kerry Washington joining local officials campaigning for Harris. • Election Day is a little more than a week away and Stockton University has been looking into what’s motivating voters this year. KYW South Jersey reporter Mike Dougherty spoke with the research director about what they’ve learned.
• Pennsylvania State Police are investigating a threat targeted at the Montgomery County GOP. It forced their committee headquarters in Whitpain Township to close Saturday.
• In the Northeast, a 22-year-old is dead after police say he was speeding on a motorcycle and crashed into a car. It happened around 3:30 Saturday afternoon at Bustleton Avenue and Tomlinson Road in the Somerton neighborhood. Officials say he was weaving between lanes and collided with the vehicle making a left turn onto Tomlinson. The motorcyclist later died in the hospital. A couple other vehicles were involved in the incident. They were all damaged a bit but no one else was hurt.
