• Two men charged in the 2021 beating death of a soccer fan at Pat’s Steaks in South Philly have pleaded guilty in a negotiated deal with prosecutors.

• Children's Hospital of Philadelphia is mourning the loss of Barbara Friedes, a third-year oncology resident, who was hit and killed by a car in Center City on Wednesday night while she was riding her bike.
• A driver is in serious condition at the hospital after a tree fell on a SUV on I-476 in Delaware County on Thursday. 
• Philly City Council's Kensington Caucus held a public hearing on Thursday about making drug rehab more accessible in the neighborhood.
• A man drowned after jumping into the Great Egg Harbor River on Wednesday to save two children.

• Former President Donald Trump will speak Thursday night to close out the Republican National Convention. His address comes just five days after an attempted assassination. Trump watched from his family box Wednesday night while his running mate JD Vance introduced himself to the country.

• One bicyclist and two pedestrians were hit by cars in just a matter of hours Wednesday night in Philadelphia, leaving two of the victims dead.

• Philadelphia has been chosen as a new home port for Norwegian Cruise Line’s Norwegian Jewel, starting in 2026. It’s been more than a decade since a major cruise line set sail from Philly.

• It'll cost you $1 more to cross the Delaware starting in September. The Delaware River Port Authority board voted to raise tolls from $5 to $6. It's the first toll increase on the Ben Franklin, Walt Whitman, Betsy Ross and Commodore Barry bridges in 13 years.
• New Jersey Gov. Phil Murphy has signed into a law a bill that protects home equity in foreclosure sales.

• Students and teachers from the country’s original 13 colonies are gathering in Philadelphia this week for the Young People’s Continental Congress to study 250-year-old history and also digest history in the making.
