A Philadelphia police officer was shot in his bulletproof vest Thursday afternoon during an exchange of gunfire with a man who cops had taken to Friends Hospital in the Northeast for treatment. That man was shot and killed by police.

A 38-year-old nanny has pleaded guilty to involuntary manslaughter in last year's death of the 3-year-old boy who wandered off and drowned in a retention pond while in her care last at a park in Chester County.
