Full Hour | In today’s third hour, Dom welcomes Philadelphia Councilmembers Mark Squilla and Quetcy Lozada back onto the Dom Giordano Program to hear why they, along with 3 other Councilmembers, have introduced a new bill banning Safe Injection Sites from opening in their districts. First, Dom speaks with Lozada about why she felt it was important to get ahead of the sites, with Lozada explaining that this has been a long process and something her constituents have made clear to her that they want. Then, Dom asks Squilla to defend the move against criticism that the bill is immoral, with Squilla explaining the impact that these sites have on the surrounding community and the immorality of the initiative itself.
Then, Dom tells about an effort by a progressive group to cancel an upcoming event for Megan Brock’s group, Moms for Liberty, at an upcoming Downtown Philadelphia Hotel. Dom tells about the group, ActUp, telling of his past experiences with the very aggressive activist group. Dom encourages listeners to show support for the group by asking Marriott to continue with the event. (Photo by Spencer Platt/Getty Images)
