Full Hour | In today’s third hour, Dom welcomes in Fenicia Redman, a mother in the Great Valley School District, who has made headlines nationally for her push to ban ‘sexually explicit’ material from her 16-year-old child’s library. Redman tells about the lawsuit she has filed against the school district hoping to censor the explicit material, which has exploded into a situation in which a recent protest she held was interrupted by police. Redman tells Giordano and listeners about the federal injunction she filed, giving some evidence of very explicit material, and explains where the suit stands and where it may go from here.
Then, Dom welcomes former Philadelphia City Councilmember Derek Green onto the Dom Giordano Program after he resigned from City Council earlier this week and announced his candidacy for Philadelphia Mayor. First, Dom asks Green about his platform position that Philadelphians should expect more and deserve better, telling that he’s been disappointed by the City’s leadership recently. Green gives a little bit of information about himself and his background, telling that he’s worked everywhere from the DA’s office under Lynn Abraham and in the private sector as a small business owner. Then, Giordano asks Green about his stance on criminal justice reform, with the candidate telling that he believes it is indeed possible to reform criminal justice while propagating safety for the citizens of the City.
