Welcome to our first-ever Weekly WTF podcast!

Today, Joe Kuzma is joined by Terry Fletcher, who writes the Weekly WTF here at Steel City Underground. We’ve taken the feature column to a new audio format, where we can further expand on some of the strange happening in this week’s set of games across the league.

This week, those stories include the strange extension, and subsequent firing of Los Angeles Rams coach Jeff Fisher, Big Ben’s bad game, Mike Tomlin getting his 100th career victory, plus some other interesting side notes about the Ravens and Bengals.

Joe also adds one final jab at the commissioner for making the Steelers play on all of these holidays (WTF!)

What team (and coach) is bad on the road?

Looks like the Steelers made a statement (for the most part) against the Bills. They dominated most of the game, improved their winning streak to 4, and tallied their third-straight road win.

A lot of different Steelers set records and/or career bests in this one too. We’ll explore what went right, wrong, and wasn’t a big deal in this 27-20 victory.

It’s set to snow in Buffalo this Sunday, but aside from a “Snow Day” for the Steelers on the road, the Bills home field could not only be littered with white, but also with those black and gold Terrible Towels.

How will the Steelers fare this weekend? A lot of people think that this game is the real test, dismissing the decisive victory over the Giants… because it was at home?

Ben is a different animal at home, but he’s also a different animal in the month of December: an absolute beast. But maybe those naysayers are right: can the Steelers make it 3 of 4 on the road?

If they do, a postseason run might not be far behind.

I’m finally joined by another partner in crime here at SCU, Josh Fitzer, as we blow up the narratives from the Steelers win over the Giants.

Following a 4-game losing streak, the Steelers are now on a 3-game winning streak: the first of those two losses were against inferior competition, but some folks are already writing off this victory as well.

Was it a quality win?

What did we see that could expect us to look for EVEN MORE from this Pittsburgh team heading into the final four games of the season?

We’ll talk about this, and some other small Steelers talk, on today’s episode.

The NFC’s second-best team, the 8-3 New York Football Giants, go on the road again this Sunday as they travel to the Steel City, on the heels of a six-game winning streak.

A lot of Steelers Nation is nervous about this one, but they shouldn’t be: the Giants have had a pretty easy path to get to this point, and Heinz Field has not been the “friendly confines” for seven of the last nine visitors.

There are a lot of similarities between the two franchises, from ownership to coaching to quarterbacks; we’ll talk about that, and who will end up on top this Sunday.

I feel as though I wait all year for September: the change of seasons, including the most important one… football season!

Time flies, and football’s almost over. “Steel Dad” Marc Uhlmann joins this episode, as we discuss the upcoming month of December, our biggest surprises, and the disappointments, of the 2016 season.

How about those Steelers?

Yeah, those ones: the ones that can’t beat bad teams on the road.

Well, that streak has subsided for a moment, and now the Steelers sit at 6-5, with an opportunity to take sole possession of the lead in the AFC North.

It wasn’t always pretty, and I have a pretty epic rant on this episode, that has to do with that “other team” on the field.

Oh, and a few players really stepped up their game Thursday night, on both sides of the ball.

All in all it was a Steelers victory, one that helps us enjoy that leftover turkey through the weekend.

The Steelers, and especially Ben Roethlisberger, have owned the Indianapolis Colts over their last few meetings. One of those games includes Big Ben throwing for over 500 yards and 6 touchdowns.

However, can Pittsburgh keep that trend going against a 5-5 Colts team looking to salvage their season? And what developments have occurred to handicap the Colts on Thanksgiving night?

Joe explores this and more, to see if the Steelers can not only win again on the road, but do so on a short week.

I believe so!

With a number of records set in a dominant performance against the Cleveland Browns on Sunday, the Pittsburgh Steelers snapped a four game losing streak, and are now tied for the lead in the AFC North with the Baltimore Ravens. There was a lot of good in that game on Sunday, but we’re also going to discuss a few surprises as well as dig into a few side stories heading into the home stretch of the 2016 season.

Welcome back Steelers Nation! It’s been a rough month or so of football, but I believe Pittsburgh is ready to right the ship against an 0-10 Cleveland Browns team, which has nothing to lose, except more games.

Cleveland is bad. Very bad.

Yet some of the fanbase thinks the Steelers could drop a road game because of talking heads who complain about Tomlin’s road record against losing teams.

I’ll tell you why you shouldn’t believe everything you read on the Internet.
