It’s been awhile Steelers Nation, but I’m back (voice intact) from a small hiatus, feeling better than ever as Mr. Steelers Grind Eric Herrmann joins me for a 2-part series.

In part one, we’re going to talk about all of the happenings around the team, including roster cuts, restructured contracts, potential free agent signings, and injury prognosis for several players.

There was so much going on, that we had to sit our fantasy portion of the show for part 2, which will air later this week – that’s how much Steelers news there is to cover!

Aren’t you glad football is finally back?

Actually, this could be about more than two contracts, but in the case of one Steeler, Vince Williams, he was awarded a new contract while another longtime player waits to see if he will be extended, or leave via free agency in 2017.

We’ll also talk about Keenan Lewis, and trust me, it’s not the easiest decision if you’re Pittsburgh (that is, unless, his health truly is that poor.)

In what felt like forever, I finally got to catch up with S.G. Bangor, one of the founder fathers of the popular fan group “Stiller Gang.”

Last night’s Steelers/Eagles game is probably why people don’t watch preseason games.

Come to think of it, I wish I could’ve avoided it altogether… yes, part of that is because I have been a defender of Landry Jones, and yes, even in this show, I do make up “some” excuses for the turnovers (and I’m not alone in saying this by the way! Even Mike Tomlin said there were “breakdowns.”)

The rest of the game was fairly uneventful too. I’ll talk about the receivers, tight ends, and the defense in today’s breakdown of the preseason debacle, and hopefully, I can keep my sanity when talking about these meaningless games!

We’re back into preseason prediction mode, but it’s not wins or losses, or scores, that we’re predicting.

There are several questions which need answered heading into the Pittsburgh Steelers second preseason game against the Philadelphia Eagles on Thursday night, including the backup quarterback picture, the state of the secondary, some injured players returning to on-field action, and of course, does Sammie Coates bounce back from a bad showing last Friday?

Okay, enough of that! I explain a bit of the shift from the usual Monday/Wednesday/Friday format on today’s show, then dive into talking Landry Jones, Bruce Gradkowski, and yes, even Michael Vick…

I also give some of my reaction (or lack of overreaction) to the Steelers preseason game against the Lions, with more attention focused on individual efforts, plus some other quick Steelers news.

Football is finally here! The Pittsburgh Steelers will take on the Detroit Lions at Heinz Field for the first preseason action of the 2016 season. Who better to join the broadcast than Steel City Blitz’ Marc Uhlmann, better known as “Steel Dad!”

We’ll discuss another bizarre story in Steelers camp (as if we haven’t had enough, right?) as news surfaces surrounding Ladarius Green. We’ll also touch on the players we’re excited to see play in the first preseason game, the players who won’t be playing at all, and some wild nicknames.

Whether you’re headed to Pittsburgh for the game or not, this is a listen worth checking out before kickoff!

In what is one of the most bizarre things you’ll come across on the internet in the last 24 hours, Antonio Brown got into a verbal altercation with one of the officials working the Pittsburgh Steelers and Detroit Lions joint practice sessions yesterday.

The news struck a chord so close to home that I had to release a special “bonus” edition of the show today to address the situation!

Was the official being lackadaisical and not doing his job? If so, is it justified to go on a profanity-laced public display directed at the referee in question?

And why are we so quick to blame the referee for the player’s actions? What if the roles were reversed, or the object of the tirade was Brown instead?

Yep. I’m going there and more in today’s show, to give you a bit of a different perspective on professionalism in sports.

On today’s show I’m rejoined by Eric H. as we dissect the third phase of football: special teams!

Yes, it’s a show dedicated to special teams and special teamers (because kickers and punters are people too.)

We’re going to discuss the impact of the NFL rule change on touchbacks, a little more banter about whether Antonio Brown should (or should not) return punts, plus, we’ll name our overachievers, underachievers, roster bubble players and more as special teams predictions will be made.

Steelers Nation, it was such a busy weekend full of events, yet lacking of any news, that I was really at a loss of words for what to talk about today… so I’ll start with the cancellation of the Hall of Fame game, and my personal thoughts on the field conditions and player safety.

I’ll also talk about Kevin Greene and his well deserved induction into the Pro Football Hall of Fame, plus, answer some questions about Steelers in the Hall of Fame.

Over the weekend I was also able to pick up a case of the new Pittsburgh Steelers Bud Light cans.
