Tesla is on the cusp of launching the Plaid Model S variant, with 520+ miles of range, 200mph top speed, and sub 2 second 0-60 time. For just $139,990, it's yours! Could the Model S Plaid be coming even sooner than "late 2021" ... like in a few months? If so, it will be the first Tesla product with the new 4680 battery cells (unveiled at Battery Day). If Tesla can get the Plaid Model S with the new battery cells on the road in 2021, it will be a great sign for the company's battery skunkworks/in-house battery cell program.
