This is happening at our own peril, as the climate crisis worsens and advertiser-based mainstream media basically ignores one of the biggest causes: animal agriculture. The media runs story after story attacking plant-based meat alternatives as processed while failing to mention that processed meat is officially cancer-causing, according to the World Health Organization. When the World Bank recently called for governments to shift away from subsidizing meat and dairy and embrace alternatives proteins, that urgent recommendation was ignored by mainstream media.
