Happy Friday, Mets fans! We know, we know. It's not our usual day. But we decided to break the rules a little for a special occasion. We are lucky enough to be joined by Mets beat writer for The Record/NorthJersey.com Justin Toscano!

Even since we last spoke, the Mets have been busy. Rumors are abound that the Mets are active in the trade market, and earlier this week, they made a trade. They acquired outfield prospect Khalil Lee in a three-team trade with the Royals and Red Sox. To the outside fan, this deal looks awfully confusing. Justin helps us break down why the Mets made this trade and why a prospect like Lee helps the Mets almost immediately.

We also break down the rest of the trade market and what avenues the Mets could take to round out the baseball team. Could there be a Kris Bryant trade brewing? Justin lets us know what he's heard.

And finally, we talk to Justin about what his experience on the Mets' beat has been like through a pandemic, especially during the very odd 2020 season. So, joining us on podcast this week is Allison McCage (@PetitePhD), one of the hosts of Amazin' Avenue's exceptional women-led podcast, A Pod Of Their Own (@APodOfTheirOwn). Allison helps us break down the recent slew of Mets depth acquisitions - Jordan Yamamoto, Aaron Loup, Albert Almora, and the three arms the Mets got in exchange for Steven Matz - and gives her thoughts on why the Mets' offseason feels disappointing.

We are then joined by Allie Kaylor (@cincinnallie), assistant sports editor of the Daily Orange, Syracuse University's student newspaper, and resident online Reds fan. She tells us about her experience having to watch Trevor Bauer as a fan and helps break down why the Mets dodged a bullet when Bauer spurned the Mets for the Dodgers.

You weren't dreaming, Mets fans. The Mets really did acquire Francisco Lindor and Carlos Carrasco from the Indians last week. It leaves Jack and I asking a couple questions: Is this the most exciting team the Mets have put together in recent memory? And, and the Mets the team to beat in the NL East?

We talk about how badly we want George Springer on the Mets and the talk about the Japanese right-hander Tomoyuki Sugano, who has to with a team before January 7th. We would like him to be on the Mets too.

Then, we talk about the two big trades the Padres made for Blake Snell and Yu Darvish. Jack is mad because he thinks the Mets could have gotten involved for one of those pitchers.
