I'm not sure anyone is going to get the "typewriters in the background / News" reference (and they may just be distracting).

The intro, I would run the intro, then state that today's show was about frogs, then play the illegal clip of Mitch Hedberg talking about frogs. I'm not sure the news story was "our top story" worthy (of being at the top of the show). I would put news at the back of the show (in case it gets dated). if you had done the show in this order:

People might care more about news about frogs after hearing about how cool they are.

Opinion:

The audio quality and energy were great. You did a good job of explaining what was coming on the show, and what the show was about. The only thing you did, is you introduced the four horsemen at the beginning of the show, and then you did the intro, and then you introduced them again. This time with sound effects, but being that it had only been a few minutes since you introduced them, we had not forgotten them. I would just say, "So the first horsemen we are tackling is.." and went right into it. Then to transition, you can say things like, "Horsemen number 2 of the Racing Apocoplyse is..."

If you have any credentials you might want to add that to answer the question, "Why should I listen to you?"

Opinion:

The intro has great audio quality and I love the "and stuff" tagged on at the end letting me know we have serious topics, but we're not going to be bland.

Rhonda does a nice job of dropping a hint that she does an advice column with Dr. Cheri, which helps add validity to her brand without blatantly bragging. Then she gets right to the meat and potatoes.

HOLY COW. What a letter. I am instantly sucked into listening to the rest of this episode. unless you're DEAD this episode pulls at your heartstrings. It delivers a great first impression of professionalism and compassion.

As a show that only listens to the first few minutes of the episode, I will be glad when I'm typing this up so I can go listen to the rest of the episode.

Opinion:

The production was good. I did find it odd that you had the sound effect of the FBI agent walking around the room, but no footsteps from the desk to the room. The intro with the scary laugh doesn't really add much besides let me know it's going to be spooky. It doesn't give me a hint at what the story is about.

This is a bus with no sign on the front. You don't know where it's going (unless you're on their website). as there is no description in iTunes, and no introduction of any kind in the episode. You just walk into the middle of the movie.

I don't think I'm the target audience for this as I don't listen to audio dramas. Too often there are 90% mood music and sound effects and not enough compelling story. They also move slowly to build the backstory and characters.

Opinion

One of your top stories is that it was spring. I'm not sure I need a podcast to tell me it's spring. then again, in the bee world, this is a big deal. I liked that you explained what the show was about, and then gave us a table of contents.

I see now that one of your first stories was that it was spring, this still sounded like chit-chat. You both have a great chemistry, but all the thanking of people and the app mention kept pushing off the actual show content (bee breeding was the title). If you look at television, they typically do at least one scene before going to a commercial.

So you did a nice job of teasing the content, I would try to get to one of the stories and make sure it's obvious where these start and end, and then go into promotion mode. This can be done with transition music, or more simply, your tone of voice and pacing.

Opinion:

Great audio quality and production. The intro started off cute and quickly turned into an episode of the View on Steroids with people talking over each other. This went on way too long. If the objective of this was to get me up to speed, it may not have achieved its goal.

Then once the game starts, I still didn't know what was going on. Keep in mind, I've never played, or watched a game of DnD. So I am not your target audience. 

I do LOVE the fact that you are doing this with your kids, and you should keep doing this so you can play it for them on their prom night and embarrass them.

Opinion

I liked the casual delivery. It made me feel like you were telling me about your day. I loved the quick intro of the show, then a quick table of contents. Then right into a story. I had a picture of you on Costco, and a giant bag of Chia seed the size of your head. I liked the pace, and I'm looking forward to hearing your answer on what chia seeds actually tase like. I will be listening to the rest of this episode later.

Opinion:

The intro was short and to the point and let know what to expect. It was well produced and set the mood for the podcast. 

The host had informed me that he had Parkinson's and as he put it, "which is why my voice is so...weird."

My first reaction was that Scott was drunk. However, knowing of his disease I had compassion. My dilemma is then, how does Scott invoke that compassion without announcing in every episode, "Oh by the way I have Parkinson's." I don't have an answer for it. You might add a blurb in you about page on the site. 

After listening longer and getting used to Scott's "Accent" it somewhat disappears. After all, Scott is the interviewer and his guest should do most of the talking. 

I always say as long as the delivery does not distract from what is being due to HOW it's being said, you don't have a problem.

When I went to the speaker page, there was no way to subscribe to the show. You could get more Google Juice by putting a single player with show notes on you main website

Opinion

There were clips to help set the mood, and inspire. This was OK. Then the music and the voice intro stop SUPER ABRUPTLY, then you changed to a monologue from someone British, and this made me think we were not done with the clips (even though I was just welcomed to the show). I was really expecting to hear the host, but instead, I had a VERY LONG monologue from the British guy, and I thought (because of its length) it might've been the guest from you today. 

Then you come on and tell us about his book, and a bunch of general things about the guest (most of which I'm not sure pertained to the show). Why did you bring him on the show? You finally specifically said he was going to teach strategies. Awesome. That should've been the intro. Think of it as a bus, you need to put the sign on the front of the bus so they know where they are going. Then after you announced your guest, you jump to the middle of the interview, then jump back to your thanking me for tuning into the website. That was a pretty bad case of whiplash. By the end, I was just confused.

I would shorten the clips, only use those items from the guest's bio that pertain to the show, and explain what you can expect from the interview. Then introduce him and get to the interview. You only have a few short minutes for to grab people by the head and heart.

iTunes Description:

This is the show for novelists who hate marketing, but still want to become best-selling authors. Our goal is to make book promotion fun and easy for writers who would really rather be writing.

Opinion:

The intro music was too loud, and you got off on a tangent about the hosts' second show. As a new listener, I don't care about show #2 until I like show #1 and your tangent was not a great way to start the show. You're explaining AM/FM and while I get the sarcasm, you're wasting my time. 

You also gave me no reason as to why I should listen to you. Who are you? 

Your audio is OK. it was listenable once we got to the talking part. It seemed to miss some icing (maybe a little equalization to make it a little warmer, and clear). The first host needs a pop filter. 

I would've faded out the music and while you were talking over it, you seem to have to shout over it. 

I found it funny that you say "Let's dive in immediately" after you have gone on this long tangent.

BONUS

You're using Feedburner which was a good idea in 2005, but a horrible idea in 2017 (it stalls, and often scrambled titles, etc).
