Podjiba

This week on the show, we dive into the first "finale" arc on 'Supernatural' (as in, the season five apocalypse endgame)! We also briefly talk about other things first, and Professor Tori Preston assigns us a game (1:08:15)! The viewing we did this week include: Season 5, Episode 10: Abandon All Hope Season 5, Episode 21: Two Minutes To Midnight Season 5, Episode 22: Swan Song As for next week, our episodes will be: Season 4, Episode 18: The Monster At The End Of This Book Season 5, Episode 5: Fallen Idols Season 11, Episode 20: Don't Call Me Shurley Hope you come along for the ride! Our theme song is by Juan Gutierrez!

Week two of 'Supernatural' 101 (with Professor Preston) is meta week! This week, three episodes of the long-running show that showcase the show's love of television, and making jokes at the show's expense! Note: it's our 50th episode, which also means we started with a lot of nonsense up top for no particular reason, but if you want to get right into the 'Supernatural' discussion, that starts off at (22:24). The viewing we did this week include: Season 3, Episode 13: Ghostfacers Season 5, Episode 8: Changing Channels Season 6, Episode 15: The French Mistake As for next week, our episodes will be: Season 5, Episode 10: Abandon All Hope Season 5, Episode 21: Two Minutes To Midnight Season 5, Episode 22: Swan Song Hope you come along for the ride! Welcome! Let's begin. Specifically, let's begin Tori's 'Supernatural' course, curated with fifteen (and some bonus) episodes over the next five weeks to introduce novices Dustin and Dan (and any of you out there!) to the show. The viewing we did this week include: Season 1, Episode 1: Pilot Season 1, Episode 22: Devil's Trap Season 3, Episode 11: Mystery Spot (Although Dustin, ever the good student, also watched episodes 121 and 201, since they're part of the story that takes place in 122.) Tori also puts us through a 'Supernatural'-themed (obvi) game! (1:08:08) It's a fun time! As for next week, our episodes will be: Season 3, Episode 13: Ghostfacers Season 5, Episode 8: Changing Channels Season 6, Episode 15: The French Mistake Hope you come along for the ride! Our theme song is by Juan Gutierrez!

Our journey with FNL ends with episodes 13, 14, and 15 ("Humble Pie", "Leave No One Behind", and "May The Best Man Win"). Also, starting next week we'll be going on a 'Supernatural' journey, as Tori curates five weeks of fun in an attempt to give a sense of what the show is like in just 15 episodes! Next week's homework (if you so choose): Season 1, Episode 1: Pilot Season 1, Episode 22: Devil's Trap Season 3, Episode 11: Mystery Spot Hope you come along for the ride! Our theme song is by Juan Gutierrez!

Podjiba is a 'Friday Night Lights' (but only season two) podcast. This is a very normal thing for us to be doing. This is week four, where we discuss (11:52) episodes 10, 11, and 12 ("There Goes The Neighborhood", "Jumping The Gun", and "Who Do You Think You Are?"). We also kind of play a FNL-related game (1:03:48). You get it by now. Next week will conclude this series, and then we do something else! Our theme song is by Juan Gutierrez!

Middle of July, middle of FNL Season Two, that's how the old saying goes, right? As you no doubt know by now, we're still in the middle of our rewatch, so this week's podcast covers episodes 7, 8, and 9 of season two ("Pantherama!", "Seeing Other People", and "The Confession"). So many questionable relationships, so little time! Also, a game that turned out either slightly better or much, much worse than I expected (56:37)! Our theme song is by Juan Gutierrez!

Last we checked, it's still July, which means we're still talking about FNL Season Two! This week's podcast covers episodes 4, 5, and 6 of season two ("Backfire", "Let's Get It On", and "How Did I Get Here"), which we definitely were more excited to talk about than, say, 'Hamilton' (8:25). Then, we play a game I didn't make up at the last minute (1:10:21)! Our theme song is by Juan Gutierrez! (Train sound provided by freesoundslibrary dot com)

Well, it's officially begun. We start our July deep dive into the most controversial season of 'Friday Night Lights', season two, a.k.a. the murder season, a.k.a. the strike season! We'll be covering the show all month, but here we begin with the first three episodes of the season: "Last Days of Summer", "Bad Ideas", and "Are You Ready For Friday Night!" (7:37). We also play an FNL-themed game (50:12), in which Dustin is rightfully penalized for his cheating! #Dustincheats Our theme song is by Juan Gutierrez!

This week on the show: We start off with some thoughts on the 'Top Chef' finale (sorry Tori) (15:56) before we sort of loosely discuss shows that we stopped watching for some reason (28:55). Then, we get into our main topic of the week: the premiere of HBO's new version of 'Perry Mason' (41:19)! If you like sad Matthew Rhys, this may be the show for you. Finally, we end with a Dustin-led game (58:26) in which he definitely did not cheat! (He did. #dustincheats) Our theme song is by Juan Gutierrez!

Hello! A note: this week's main topic is the new Michaela Cole HBO series 'I May Destroy You' (3:32), which deals (in part) with sexual assault. Understandably, this might be a sensitive topic for some listeners, so if you'd like to skip ahead, we get into some much lighter nonsense at (21:28), before playing a vaguely 'Search Party'-related game (49:39).
