Pony Tales Podcast

Welcome to The Pony Tales Podcast, where we're celebrating our 200th episode without any signs of slowing down (unless our ponies get tired, that is). We're giving thanks to our amazing listeners, guests, and sponsors for helping us reach this milestone, because let's be honest, without you guys we'd be talking to ourselves.  To mark this special occasion, we're sharing some of our favorite tales from the past 200 episodes.

From heartwarming stories of rescue and rehabilitation to inspiring tales of triumph in the show ring (and a few pony puns thrown in for good measure), we guarantee these stories will have you galloping with laughter and feeling all the feels.

So a big thank you to our loyal listeners, fabulous guests, and generous sponsors for making The Pony Tales Podcast possible. We promise to keep bringing you the best tales around, and if we ever get stuck, we'll just let the ponies take the reins. Don't forget to subscribe and leave a comment below with your favorite of the tales – we can't wait to hear from you!

Travis Thompson has a list of Southwestern accolades proven by the PaceSetters he brings on the show. This 6-summer bookman gets into what it takes for big numbers to produce big numbers, how sales is really the service industry, and plenty of stories from time recruiting and selling with Nick Dale, Pedro Vega, and Quintin Roberts; all of whom are crushing it with Cardinal Senior Benefits. Join Andres as he and Travis get into so many leadership principles that all begin in that first summer selling books in the back country of Pennsylvania. Enjoy!

Barron Marschall has so. many. stories. This is an epsidoes chalk full of great moments on the bookfiled of Barron's seven summers selling. Having recently "graduated" into alumnihood, Barron and Andres talk through what that wild ride was like and what is coming next for him in a joint venture of Family Heritage and Soutwestern Real Estate. Barron busts out his stats journal from his fifth summer - so first years out there, this one has some great lessons: follow days are the best. There's a surprise announcement at the end you don't want to miss. Enjoy!

Elijah Smyth is one stellar human cranking it with Vivint. He and Andres get into why this was the right move for him after selling books for two summers and the valuable skills that time on the book field taught him. Elijah had a...rocky first summer, but was encouraged to come out again by the sheer fact that someone believed he could. The power of belief and the power of human kindness when it seems that all has gone wrong are strong themes that resonate through their conversation. If you'd like to connect with Elijah, find him on Instagram at: @elijah_smyth Enjoy!

Quintin and Jessica (Lackey) Roberts are an Eagle Blitz power couple who grace us with their parental presence for this special Valentine's episode. Their first summer was the same summer, but it took a few years before theh sparks began to fly. Jessica and Quintin share with Andres not only the story of how they met, but some of the great joys and challenges of parenting, of choosing a season of being a stay at home mom, and what kinds of values they want to instill in their children. Special guest on the show is baby Anna! Enjoy!

Eliav Cohen is back for round TWO! Eliav has taken the skills from the bookfield and launched into the real of AI - and if that it's timely enough - he is also a hot air balloon pilot and knows a thing or two about how to steer a balloon, even a Chinese "weather balloon". Eliav and Andres get deep into the creative functioning of tools like ChatGPT for business and education and how harnessing the new technology can revolutionize your company. Eliav is also getting into some epic adventures with multi-day hot air balloon tours. So many cool things with a bit of disruptive politics thrown in, just for fun. Enjoy!

Walton Simmons hops on the show for a FULL episode. He and Andres have a couple of drinks and dive into property management, international experiences, being related to the legendary Jake Chesney, and seven formative summers. Walton didn't have a fast start in 2016, but built his skills to finish his Southwestern career with pride. They share ideas on some innovative ideas that SW could consider - and the power that this entrepreneurship formation can have. Enjoy!

Kora Severance, a three summer FORCE bookgirl, joins the show after just getting off the bookfield. Twenty twenty-two was her final summer selling, and she and Andres talk through how that exit experience was (spoiler alert, it was positive!), and how her time selling and recruiting has prepared her in her new current career as a recruiter. What was perceived as the least transferrable skill is now her day job! Kora also shares how her emotional purpose her first summer kept her going after zero-ing for three weeks in 2020. While her big dreams are to pursue a career in music, this is only the beginning of life after Southwest Airlines. Enjoy!
