Pop Queers

LOOK AT MOI!

We’re back with a star studded double celebrity line up!

Our first guest this week is prolific author, cartoonist, journalist and woman of many talents Kaz Cooke! Who is currently working on a book on the history of bonkers advice to women.  You may recognise her from previous best-selling works including ‘Up the Duff’, ‘Babies & Toddlers’, and the book series ‘Girl Stuff’. You can find out more about her and her books on her website.

Our second guest is a comedian, writer, producer and performer Gina Riley! Who has starred in shows ranging from Fast Forward to The Games. She is perhaps best loved as one half of Kath and Kim playing Kimberly Diane Craig.

Kaz and Gina go head to head in classic Pop Queers style to see who will take home the jewellery / Nokia flip phone holder shaped as a woman to add to their collection.

Aborigi-LOL’s Matt Ford takes on one of Joy’s newest members Sunanda in another episode of Pop Quaranteers.

The two go head to head to test their knowledge of comedians of colour, the Scout Movement, the Mandela Effect, and Pop Queers’ favourite ‘News ‘o’ the Week’. The winner will be taking home a decorative, but entirely non-functional, tea pot! With the stakes high, your time starts now!

Pop Quaranteers keeps delivering with beloved and familiar Joylebrity talent as we are joined by presenter on The Late Late Breakfast Show, Dylan Joel, and presenter of Melbourne’s Most Uplifting Music Mix on Fridays, Damien Rullo!

The two quarantestants will be quizzed on News o’ the Week, everything RuPaul’s Drag Race and real and actual drag racing to see who will take home this weeks prize, a stubby holder for a baby champs bottle!

Sneeze in your elbow and wash your hands as your time starts NOW!

Pop Queers stays covid-compliant with its ninth episode of Pop Quaranteers!

This week’s guests are Abbie Pobjoy and Bonny Scott who are currently working together on the documentary “Why Did She Have to Tell the World?”

The two go head to head on questions about the News o’ the Week, LGBT film in Australia, Feminism and Laws of the Land to see who will get to take home the 1977 classic “Macho Man” by the Village People.

“Why Did She Have to Tell the World” is a documentary about Australia’s first televised lesbian couple directed by Abbie Pobjoy and produced by Bonny Scott. It is currently in post-production and you can find out more and give your support to the project here.
