Last week on episode 031, I sat down with Liz Weston of NerdWallet.com & AskLizWeston.com to discuss sharing your debt story. So this week I thought that it would only be appropriate for me to share my personal debt story. But this was not mine journey alone. So that is why my wife "K" agreed to join me on today's episode. Listen to part 1 of our conversation as we discuss how we got in to over $27,000 in debt.

I had the privilege to sit down with the one and only Liz Weston of NerdWallet.com and AskLizWeston.com. I first met Liz when she interviewed me and my wife for an article she was writing on the vicious debt cycle in which many people find themselves. So when I found out that she would also be at FinCon I knew I had to find a way to have her on the podcast.
In this episode we discuss:
-How taboo the topic of debt and money have become
-More people than you may think are dealing with debt
-Watching what others spend
-Much More!

Visit PopcornFinance.com/BlackFriday for the show notes & how to enter. No purchase necessary.
I hate Black Friday. I hate it because I used to work in retail when I was in college. I would have to wake up between 2 and 3 am the next morning after enjoying my thanksgiving dinner to go to work. I would be there for at least 12 hours. It would be a very, very long day.
So, because of the trauma that I suffered on this day I will be doing a special giveaway. I will be giving away a 1 (one) month subscription to Netflix to incentivize people to stay home. You can just stay at home all day on black Friday and watch all the stuff that is on there.
This giveaway will run from 11/21/17 through 11/23/17 at 12pm pst. There will be two ways for you to enter in to this giveaway.
-First if you are not already subscribed to the Popcorn Finance Podcast, subscribe via your podcast player of choice. Send a screenshot showing that you subscribed to [email protected].
-If you are already a subscriber, leave a review for the Popcorn Finance Podcast in the Apple podcast app or wherever you listen. Send a screenshot of your review to [email protected].
-For either submission please put Black Friday Giveaway or Netflix Giveaway in the subject line.
I will do a random drawing of all submissions and notify the winner by 11pm pst on 11/23/17.
This giveaway is completely free. No purchase necessary. Just subscribe to the free Popcorn Finance Podcast or leave a review for the Popcorn Finance Podcast.
However, you must promise that if you win this you will not go out shopping on Black Friday. That is part of the deal (No, not really). But it would be great if you didn’t harass those people that are just trying to do their job.

Nick True joins me on the latest episode on the Popcorn Finance Podcast. Nick is the Social Media Manager for FinCon and the founder of MappedOutMoney.com. I met Nick at FinCon (a conference for financial professionals, bloggers, & podcasters) while he was giving the new attendee orientation.
In this episode Nick discusses how he started working for FinCon and how he & his wife handle their finances while living a non-traditional lifestyle traveling across the US.
This episode will be especially helpful for this of you trying to figure out how to budget with an income the fluctuates.
