Justin Edward Fairfax (February 17, 1979 – April 16, 2026) was an American lawyer and politician who served as the 41st lieutenant governor of Virginia from 2018 to 2022. A member of the Democratic Party, he was the second African American elected statewide in Virginia, following Douglas Wilder. In 2019, he faced sexual assault allegations dating to 2000 and 2004, which he denied.

Fairfax was a Democratic candidate for governor of Virginia in the 2021 election. He finished fourth in the Democratic primary with 3.54% of the vote. On the morning of April 16, 2026, Fairfax murdered his wife, Cerina Fairfax, before killing himself in a murder–suicide.

Samrat Choudhary (born 16 November 1968) is an Indian politician who is serving as the 24th Chief Minister of Bihar since 15 April 2026. He has been a member of the Bihar Legislative Assembly representing Tarapur Assembly constituency since 2025 and previously served as deputy chief minister of Bihar in the Nitish Kumar government from 2024 to 2026. Choudhary is the first Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) member to serve as Chief minister of Bihar.

He was previously associated with Rashtriya Janata Dal and Janata Dal (United). Choudhary was also a member of the Bihar Legislative Council from 2014 to 2016 and again from 2020 to 2025. In addition, he previously represented Parbatta in the Bihar Legislative Assembly from 2000 to 2004 and again from 2010 to 2014, and served as the party president of BJP Bihar state unit from March 2023 to 25 July 2024. In 2022, he was selected as the Leader of Opposition in Bihar Legislative Council.

Ashalata Ganpat Bhosale (born Ashalata Dinanath Mangeshkar; 8 September 1933 – 12 April 2026) was an Indian playback singer, businesswoman, actress and television personality who predominantly worked in Indian cinema. Known for her versatility, she was described in the media as one of the greatest and most influential singers in Hindi cinema. In a career spanning over eight decades, she recorded songs for films and albums in various Indian languages and won several accolades including two National Film Awards, four BFJA Awards, eighteen Maharashtra State Film Awards, nine Filmfare Awards including a Lifetime Achievement Award and a record seven Filmfare Awards for Best Female Playback Singer, in addition to two Grammy nominations. In 2000, she was honoured with the Dadasaheb Phalke Award, India's highest award in the field of cinema. In 2008, she was honoured by the Government of India with the Padma Vibhushan, the second-highest civilian honour of the country. The Guinness Book of World Records acknowledged her in 2011 as the most recorded artist in music history.

Bhosle was the younger sister of playback singer Lata Mangeshkar and belonged to the prominent Mangeshkar family. Renowned for her soprano voice range and often credited with her versatility, her work included film music, pop, ghazals, bhajans, traditional Indian classical music, folk songs, qawwalis, and Rabindra Sangeet. Apart from Hindi, she sang in over 20 Indian and foreign languages. In 2013, she made her debut as an actress in the film Mai, and received critical acclaim for her performance. In 2006, she stated that she had recorded over 12,000 songs in her career, a figure repeated by several other sources.

Péter Magyar (born 16 March 1981) is a Hungarian politician and lawyer who is the president of the Tisza Party. He led the party to victory in the 2026 Hungarian parliamentary election and is expected to become the next prime minister of Hungary. Magyar has served as a member of the European Parliament (MEP) since 2024.

A former member of Hungary's governing party Fidesz, Magyar garnered nationwide attention when he announced his resignation from all government-related positions amidst the Katalin Novák presidential pardon scandal in February 2024, after expressing deep dissatisfaction with how Fidesz was governing the country. On 15 March 2024, he announced his desire to form a new political platform for those dissatisfied with both the government and the establishment opposition. He assumed leadership of the formerly unknown Respect and Freedom (Hungarian: Tisztelet és Szabadságcode: hun promoted to code: hu , TISZA) party, emerging as the most prominent opposition leader. In the 2024 European Parliament election in Hungary, his party secured second place behind Fidesz, gaining nearly 30% of the vote, the highest number and percentage of votes by any non-Fidesz party since 2006. He has described himself as a "critical" pro-European and conservative liberal.

Parliamentary elections were held in Hungary on 12 April 2026 to elect all 199 members of the National Assembly, with 100 seats required for a simple majority government, and 133 seats required for a two-thirds supermajority with the power to amend the Constitution of Hungary. It was the 10th parliamentary election since the 1990 Hungarian parliamentary election, and election day was the anniversary of the successful 2003 Hungarian European Union membership referendum. The election had a high turnout, with more than 79% of voters taking part in the election. The incumbent Fidesz–KDNP government of Prime Minister Viktor Orbán was decisively beaten by the opposition Tisza Party led by Péter Magyar, ending Orbán's 16-year tenure.

Orbán is the leader of Fidesz, a Christian nationalist and far-right political party, which is the primary party of the Fidesz–KDNP party alliance. Orbán has been in office since the 2010 Hungarian parliamentary election. Hungary underwent democratic backsliding under his government, which espoused Christian nationalism and what he called "illiberal democracy". Orbán was seeking a fifth consecutive term in office. He was challenged primarily by Magyar and his pro-European and centre-right political party.

In the lead up to the election, Politico Europe described this as the most important election in the European Union (EU) in 2026. DW News described the election as a referendum on whether Hungary would continue to drift towards authoritarianism and Russia or change course towards liberal democracy and the EU. There were fraud accusations before the elections by both sides.

Preliminary returns indicated Tisza had won 138 seats, enough for a two-thirds supermajority. Fidesz is projected to lose over half of its seats. Orbán conceded defeat on election night and congratulated Magyar. In the aftermath, Magyar was congratulated by various international leaders for what was described as a historic election result.

Eric Michael Swalwell ( SWAHL-well; born November 16, 1980) is an American lawyer and politician serving as the U. Born in Sac City, Iowa, Swalwell graduated from the University of Maryland, College Park in 2003 and from the University of Maryland, Baltimore in 2006. As a college student, he served as a student liaison to the College Park City Council and interned for U. S. Representative Ellen Tauscher. Swalwell returned to California after law school and worked as a deputy district attorney in Alameda County. He was appointed to multiple municipal commissions in Dublin and later served two years on the Dublin City Council. He was elected to the U. S. House of Representatives in 2012, defeating 40-year incumbent Pete Stark in an upset.

Swalwell has co-chaired the House Democratic Steering Committee since 2017. He was a candidate in the 2020 Democratic Party presidential primaries from April to July 2019 before dropping out and endorsing Joe Biden.

Swalwell is a candidate for governor of California in 2026.

Through his co-opting of his street gang Black Spades into the music and culture-oriented organization Universal Zulu Nation, he helped spread hip-hop culture throughout the world.

In May 2016, Bambaataa left his position as head of the Universal Zulu Nation due to multiple allegations of child sexual abuse dating as far back as the 1970s.

On 8 April 2026, Sangha was sentenced to 15 years minimum in prison for role in supplying the ketamine that would cause Perry's death. She has remained in prison since August 2024.

Time magazine named her one of the 100 most influential people in the world in 2023. In 2024, she starred in Megalopolis and My Old Ass and as Rio Vidal/Death in the Marvel Cinematic Universe miniseries Agatha All Along.
