The Lord promised that He would send a final plague upon Pharaoh and His people of Egypt, a plague that would bring great weeping and wailing. It would be a night of the death of the firstborn, a night of terrible destruction.

The Lord expects His people to live holy lives, He expects His people to be conformed to the image of His person. To know anything about holiness of life, the Lord teaches us that purity of heart is necessary.

Sinners warned about coming judgment if they do not repent of their sin, are left without an excuse when they face God on the great judgment day.

The Lord gave Pharaoh plenty of warning regarding his stubbornness, he was told that he would suffer judgment if he refused to let the children of Israel go. Judgment came upon him, so he was left without excuse.

The Lord promised that all believers who show mercy to those who are in need, will themselves receive mercy, when they themselves are in need. The Saviour said that He will bless those who are merciful.

When they find themselves in serious trouble, some people begging looking to the Lord. They want the Lord to deliver them out of their troubles, and so make all kinds of promises, but when the trouble passes, the promises are forgotten. King Pharaoh was such an individual.

As believers, we are called upon to pursue a life of holiness, because without holiness no man shall see God. Holiness of life, means a life of separation from the world, and hungering and thirsting after righteousness.

So often when people are in trouble, they look to God for help, then when the trouble passes, they forget God. The king of Egypt was such an individual.

In a day in which there is a great deal of advice given about diets, what we should eat and not eat, the Lord gives a diet that every Christian should give attention to.

Pharaoh treated the God of Israel and His word with distain, and was determined not to obey God. But Pharaoh would soon learn that he had no might nor power against Israel's God. The tyrant would soon be tamed.
