Our Lone Star story of the day: There is much to detest about the Flock surveillance camera company and its odd utopianist founder as well as many reasons governments should not allow the private firm’s cameras to be recording all of our movements. Why would anyone believe the firm takes seriously data privacy when it didn’t even care enough to be properly licensed in Texas? Texas says Flock surveillance violated state law over licensing issue.

Our Lone Star story of the day: The U.S. Census Bureau has released new numbers and while Texas urban areas continue to grow, a bit slower, Dallas County actually lost residents. People, and businesses, keep choosing to move to the exurban areas over the Democrat dominated, and poorly run, core cities. “Among some of the largest metro areas, the fastest-growing counties tended to be on the outer edges, a pattern especially pronounced in Texas,” the Census Bureau reported today.

Texas House of Reps. leader, founder of the BurrowCrat coalition, Dustin Burrows released a very long list of interim study charges for House committees. He also created three new committees – and the unwieldy bureaucracy of the Texas House just grows and grows so that enough members get fancier titles and a little more budget money.

Our Lone Star story of the day: New polling is out in the Texas Republican primary runoff race for U.S. Senate between Ken Paxton and ol’ John Cornyn. One might say about it: The more things change, the more things remain the same. Paxton is leading Cornyn and as expected has picked up the majority of Wesley Hunt voters. See the full breakdown from Quantus here.

Our Lone Star story of the day: I recently mentioned the recent Forbes magazine story on Michael Novogratz who ended up owning the little data center in very rural Dickens County. Well, it’s in the news in a big way today: Massive $3.5 BILLION expansion planned at data center in Dickens County owned by Novogratz’s firm Galaxy.

More Little Jimmy “The Creep” Talarico Tales: Talarico called out for suggesting men in women’s sports is ‘far right conspiracy’ – said it wasn’t happening in Texas but of course it was.
More on the bursting of the César Chávez bubble. Lubbock’s Democrats want to rename the street after Huerta who was César Chávez’s enabler! (As I well covered in yesterday’s show.) Gov. Abbott says Texas will not honor the state holiday (that should have never been passed) and lawmakers should take it off the calendar.

In Leftism, the ends always justify the means. They take such straight from Marx and in the César Chávez SCAM Dolores Huerta knew! Don’t give her victim status, she knew what ol’ C.C. was about and didn’t tell because it might hurt the “movement.” Scum all around. Texas Values had the best take on the scam’s disclosure: Texas Values Calls for Austin ISD to Restore Good Friday; Cancel Cesar Chavez/ Dolores Huerta Day Amid Child Sex Abuse Allegations.

The news of Texas covered today includes:
Our Lone Star story of the day: The scam that was, and is, César Chávez, has come home to roost! Tear down those street signs that capitulating ignoramuses allowed themselves to be bullied into a few years back. The Left never cared that he was violently against both legal and illegal immigration, but now they care that he appears to have used his position of power to have sex with young girls and women. Chávez and his group were never anything other than power and money seeking thugs and that was long known to any who would look, even Leftists.

Preposterous: Democrats and their front groups are upset that Texas is finally concurring with a Clinton-era law and refusing to issue occupational licenses to people who are not actually legal to work in the USA! They say it “punishes immigrants who try to work with the system.” That is beyond ridiculous as anyone here illegally or trying to work illegally is inherently themselves working outside of our system.
School choice in Texas has proven very popular as judged by applications for the funding slots. A judge has just ordered the application window remain open through 31 March due to a lawsuit filed by Muslims. Oddly, Pre-K seems to be a big demand which I think is often just parents wanting free childcare.

The news of Texas covered today includes:
Our Lone Star story of the day: Because Trump announced it, the Hearst newspapers are down playing, even belittling, the planned $300 billion, yep, with a “B”, refinery at the Port of Brownsville. Such a massive investment is transformational for the Rio Grande Valley as well as Texas and it will mainly refine West Texas Intermediate crude. It would be the first new, and modern tech, refinery in the county in almost half a century. But note how hard the Houston Chronicle goes to downplay it all: Trump’s $300B Texas refinery project draws skepticism from experts. (Note how light the story is on these supposed “experts!”)
