Our Lone Star story of the day: The Texas Houses Speaker race now appears to be an effort by the upper-echelon of wealthy lobbyists to save Dave Phelan as speaker which begs the question: What’s in it for them?
Mike Toomey, an elite huge money lobbyist, is very competent but reading this story, one is forced to wonder how it goes without notice that all these things only need reform because Dade Phelan has done the opposite as speaker. Why re-elect the guy who failed and is suddenly now going to implement the changes that most have known were needed, including Toomey, for some time?
Former Phelan ally Trent Ashby endorses David Cook for speaker.
Texas House Democrats snub TMF and elect Gene “Boo-Hoo” Wu as caucus chairman in a notable swing leftwards. Wu is someone who needs very close scrutiny but seems a perfect representation of today’s pro-Chinese communist Democrat Party.

Our Lone Star story of the day: Biden’s decision to issue a blanket pardon for his miscreant son Hunter effectively blocks serious investigation into the Biden family’s “business” in China and Ukraine. It also reminds us of what a self-interested LIAR Joe Biden is and has always been as well as what hypocrites are today’s Democrats.

Our Lone Star story of the day: We talk today with journalist and author Mark Patinkin about his book: The Holy Land at War: A Journey Through Israel, the West Bank and Gaza. (Click the link to order your copy.)
Mark Patinkin has been writing a column for the Providence Journal for over 45 years, starting in 1979 at age 26. Around 6,000 columns later, he is still at it.
Patinkin has written about famine in Africa, religious conflict in India and Beirut, and recently, the Gaza War. He covered the collapse of communism in Eastern Europe, where he was arrested by the secret police in Stalinist Romania for trying to interview a dissident and expelled from the country.
In addition to “The Holy Land at War,” Patinkin has written several previous books, including “An African Journey,” “The Silent War,” about the world’s most competitive companies, and “Just the Way He Was Before,” about a boy who lost both legs to bacterial meningitis but went on to play ice hockey.Patinkin was a finalist for the Pulitzer Prize in International Reporting and was recently named columnist of the year for Gatehouse Media, now Gannett.
“The Holy Land at War” is not a political analysis but a personal odyssey – one writer’s attempt to bear witness through those touched by this long conflict, Jews and Arabs sentenced together by history and geography.

Our Lone Star story of the day: The de facto open border policy of Democrats is immoral and leads to horrible things such as crime, human trafficking, kidnapping, as well as undermining national security. A Texas poll shows that even a majority of Hispanics want deportation of illegal crossers, but did you know that over 1.4 million people with judicial orders for deportation have avoided such? It’s time for bold action in America.

The news of Texas covered today includes:
Our Lone Star story of the day: Get ready for more local, state, and national misleading propaganda on the Texas Bluebonnet public school curriculum. The SBOE adopted part of such today and no, it does not teach the Bible or Christianity to students. It simply includes references, where appropriate, to the Bible so that concepts, traditions, and influences can be taught or understood in proper context. One cannot be educated to understand much of anything of Western Culture without being exposed to Christian Biblical teaching because such is at the center of most everything.

A big win for Ken Paxton today at the Texas Supreme Courtis a big win for the rule of law but because of Paxton hatred, many can’t understand this fundamental principle.
