Our Lone Star story of the day: Despite massive vilification of the Texas Education Agency takeover of Houston ISD in the Houston Chronicle and from Democrats and the teacher unions, efforts of Mike Miles and the board of managers are already paying big dividends in the states largest public schools system. Don’t expect too many Dems to admit it. Read also: Rod Paige: The HISD experiment matters to the entire U.S.

The first effort at using a new law to remove a Leftist/Soros district attorney in Texas looks to be fizzling out. From this report it also looks as the outside prosecutor didn’t do much real investigation.

Our Lone Star story of the day: Biden’s D.O.J. pulls another political persecution move and indicts the Texas surgeon who was the whistleblower on Texas Childrens’ Hospital continuing its child sex change work after telling the public it had stopped. But they failed,” Dr. Haim wrote Thursday on X. “The only way to lose is to submit to corruption. It’s time to fight back harder than ever!”

Texas Democrats begin their convention in El Paso and their highlighted speakers list shows how far Left the party is in Texas: Killing babies, taking away gun rights and the ability to effectively defend yourself and your family, pro-cross dressing “drag queens,” and a sheriff who wrongly fired a deputy for attending a Trump rally in D.C.

The news of Texas covered today includes:
Our Lone Star story of the day: There is a practice that is prevalent, especially in our Rio Grande River border counties, that needs to be made illegal by the Legislature. Why? Because it converts taxpayer dollars into campaign advertising for serving Texas politicians. I covered this in detail many years ago with an example in Alpine wherein public money was spent to advertise a Democrat state representative on a public edifice. Once again, Laredo and Webb County is using public money to aide state Senator Zaffarini. The story is here and note how many other public assets carry her name in Webb County.

I love the products of AbiMar Foods and go out of my way to buy them but why is Abilene’s economic development organization handing out taxpayer money for a successful company to upgrade software and renovate buildings? Just remember the “everybody does it” reasoning next time your child tries the line on you!

More of that “rare” election fraud found in Texas, this time in Bee County. Funny how we find so many cases but the Left claims it is so rare as to not be a significant matter.

The Texas Supreme Court rightly upholds Texas abortion law and in the opinion counters the constant lie found in media reports pushed by the pro-abortion crowd. “Under the Human Life Protection Act, a woman with a life-threatening physical condition and her physician have the legal authority to proceed with an abortion to save the woman’s life or major bodily function, in the exercise of reasonable medical judgment and with the woman’s informed consent,” Justice Jane Bland wrote in the majority opinion.

With the help of Jefferson County Democrats, the Dem sheriff was a big backer, Drinker of the House Dade Phelan got a narrow win – that’s somehow appropriate for a man committed to empowering Democrats in the Texas House and who won the speaker’s gavel by doing a deal for Dem support.
