It has an NVIDIA GTX980ti graphics card. Now every time there is a MacOS update he is in trouble because you can only update the NVIDIA drivers after you've installed the OS update. This means he is sitting in front of a black screen unless you have a stock Apple graphics card and you connect your screen to that and then perform the update. So he configured remote access over LAN on his cheese-grater and the screen sharing feature allows me to perform the necessary NVIDIA update. The MacRumours forum is a good place to look for advice here - and even gives links to the correct drivers for each OS version.
