Progressive Muscle Relaxation

This is a technique anyone can use to relieve mental and physical tension. It may also help falling asleep, and it is also great for athletes to unwind at the end of a competition day or a challenging training day. By scanning through the different parts of the body, and actively contracting and relaxing the muscles, we allow the body to let go of tensions, which will in return allow the mind to relax.

According to Dr. Mary-Frances O'Connor (Neuroscientist specialised in grief) this is also the most efficient mindfulness practice for the grieving heart
