This week on EJR, I will discuss the latest updates on the WestLake Landfill/Coldwater Creek disaster in St. Louis, Mo. Multiple communities have been poisoned by nuclear waste that was illegally dumped by the US government and their corporate partners. To add further insult to injury, St. Louisans were kept in the dark regarding the nuclear threat in THEIR OWN BACKYARDS. It took the action of a local group of moms to force the truth. Just Moms has done the work neither political party was willing to consider. This is our first story. 

The second story is about the growth of ultra-MAGA extremists running for office. This time, the lead bigot is Anthony Sabatini who is running for the US Congress. Sabatini has gone on record via twitter clearly stating that he intends to DESTROY the political 'Left." This threat can only be viewed for what it is--criminal incitement to lead a genocide sometime in the future. I will discuss.

Alabama governor Kay Ivey fired a top education official over a teacher training manual that mentioned 'white privilege', and 'systemic/structural racism.' This wasn't part of a curriculum taught to children, but a training manual for teachers. This illegitimate firing is merely the latest salvo in an organized attack on democracy itself coming from the GOP. Missouri Attorney General Andrew Bailey is one of several state level attorney generals threatening to sue Target Stores over their 'Pride' merchandise. The fact that this tactic is an egregious abuse of power doesn't bother Mr. Bailey. He lives for White Christian nationalistic fascism.

Citizens peacably protesting questionable projects using public money such as Atlanta's Cop City are being arrested, and some murdered. The corporate media are normalizing hate speech coming from groups like Moms4Liberty, while those on the left are being violently arrested or otherwise threatened and abused, for daring to use their 1st Amendment free speech, free press rights. Publicly elected representatives are being expelled from office by their GOP opposition for daring to speak the truth and question the MAGA agenda.

While DeSantis and Trump claim this is a 'War on Woke'; it is actually a war on the 1st Amendment. Today I will discuss the attacks on the 1st Amendment sponsored by the GOP. 

Rick Spisak will also cover this growing fascist danger, but through the lens of official enablers in the FBI, the corporate media and the Supreme Court in a killer interview with Professor Wendy Lynn Lee. How is it that the FBI and other law enforcement agencies 'missed' the obvious insurrection being planned in PLAIN SIGHT? How did the Supreme Court enable this insurrection?

This 4th of July, I decided focus on the GOP's steady march to the type of fascism that would make Hitler stand up and applaud. Led by Donald Trump, the GOP POTUS hopefuls are competing to see which one of them is more vile than 'The Donald,' while the 'base' sits back and enjoys the circus sideshow of neo Nazis and pathetic wanna be's. To call out the GOP as fascist seems so modest when we examine their plan to end democratic rule and incarcerate any dissenters or minorities. Everything from the 'war on woke' to the obvious demands for a legalized genocide of anyone outside the confines of White Christian fundamentalists, has been granted a fauz legitimacy. I will call this out and offer a plan to end this Hitlerian revival.

This week is the third installment of our series on Cop City and the rise of militarized policing. The discussion this week centers on police 'foundations' , their corporate masters, and the increasing police crackdown of consitutionally protected dissent. I WILL name names. 

The second story deals with Pentagon brass in bed with military 'contractors', aka corporations and the same Pentagon's inability to pass a simple fiscal audit. Apparently, Pentagon brass thought a $50,000.00 TRASH CAN was a good idea. Keep in mind that the GOP is fine with this waste, yet begudges little children $6.00 a day in SNAP benefits so these children don't STARVE. 

We wil have our next installment of "My Little Margie" and our much coveted  "Jackass of the Week Award.

Donald Trump has done it again. He has upstaged all other news stories with his shennanigans, proving that being rich, spoiled and frankly--stupid can elevate almost any moron to the presidency. Now facing federal criminal charges, he has by a suspicious 'stroke of luck' pulled Judge Aileen Mercedes Cannon as presiding judge over his criminal case. Judge Cannon is not only a Trump appointee, but her mishandling of the earlier seizure of the national security documents, (which drew criticism and a slapdown from the 11th Circuit Court of Appeals as inappropriate and prejudicial), creates the impression of judicial impropriety. She should recuse herself, but has not done so. I will discuss Judge Cannon's judicial tenure to date in light of this unusual stroke of luck for Trump. Is Judge Cannon's seating at this case merely 'luck' or was this a political manipulation? 

The next story is Cop City, part 2. I will go into the historic background behind the project and police foundations in Atlanta. The history is particularly sordid.

Cop City is a proposed training facility established to further militarize our police departments. Cop City in Atlanta has been met with protests as the corporations behind this compound seek to increase their influence and subsequently use public police departments as their public/private CAPOS or mafia-like enforcers against those pesky people who actually believe in democracy. A young activist named Manuel Paez Teran was shot 57 TIMES by Atlanta police during a non-violent protest. He was 26 years old at the time of his police murder. Protests continued and predictably arrests followed for what is protected 1st amenndment activities. A group called the Atlanta Solidarity Fund raises funds and arranges bail and attorneys for arrested protesters. Three of this group's organizers were arrested in a violent SWAT attack on their home. The ramifications for democracy are obvious. This is story #1. 

Story #2 This ties in with the first story. I will begin to discuss the corporate interests behind Cop City and the obvious conflict of interest. I will also begin to discuss the danger of new laws which expand the definition of 'terrorism.'

Last week on EJR, I discussed the imminent passage of a law in Florida which will permit the state to use radioactive materials in road pavement. This week, I will discuss the corporation that pushed for this law, MOSAIC Corp. This is yet another example of predatory capitalism and corporate rule. This is part of a series. 

Our second story deals with the revokation of Medicaid coverage, including how Florida revoked coverage for a 7 year old child battling leukemia. And still, the GOP claims the mantle of 'pro-life.'

This week on EJR (Environmental Justice Report), I will discuss the plan passed by the Florida legislature to use radioactive materials to pave roads throughout the state. The material in question is phosphogypsum, a by-product of fertilizers. Unfortunately, phophogypsum contains significant amounts of uranium and its decay products such as radium-226. Radium is particularly dangerous since its decay creates radon. Radon is a known carcinogen. So, why is the GOP controlled legislature pushing this asinine plan? Tune in as we discuss this story. 

My Little Margie will also present a new episode, aka the mystery of the notorious chapstick. Never before has such a blond neanderthal troll created such entertaining havoc.

This week, Florida Governor Ron DEATHSantis signed off on a new law which grants doctors, nurses, EMT's, pharmacists, and insurers the right to deny treatment based on religious or 'ethical' beliefs. This applies in life threatening situations as well. Essentially, if a doctor, nurse, pharmacist, EMT or insurance company disapproves of anyone's lifestyle, they are now legally permitted to DENY treatment with impunity. The fact that professional licensures such as an MD or an RN are earned privileges and not constritutional rights escapes DeSantis, even with his Ivy League law degree. I will discuss this vile law in detail and suggest some strategies to fight this state sanctioned discrimination. That is our big story. 

I will also discuss the not so subtle use of an antisemitic trope by the newly installed, Missouri Attorney General Andrew Bailey. Mr. Bailey retweeted this trope on HIS OWN twitter page. Mr. Bailey has systemically attacked the civil rights of citizens who are trans, in addition to furthering the cause of book bans. Ironically, Mr. Bailey joined a group of other state level attorney generals to accuse the Biden admn. of 'religious discrimination' against HIS OWN religion--Catholicism. Apparently Bailey has no such concerns with attacks on Jews. His hypocrisy and privilege is beyond vile. 

And, our new feature, "My Little Margie" will air again! This week Margie gets into a fight with Congressman Jamal Bowman and makes sure to use the same type of language that brought on the lynch mob. Apparently, Margie is confused by the way Congressman Bowman uses so many big words!

The final story deals with the lies told by politicians about our horrible healthcare system. Politicians of both parties refuse to consider Medicare for All, as that would anger their donors--you know--the people who BRIBE them 'legally.' Additionally, the issue of medical debt involves the world of--guess what--PRIVATE EQUITY FIRMS--and yes--I DO have documentation.
