As the Gaza ceasefire breaks down, the Ansarullah government has resumed its blockade of the Red Sea. Anti-genocide protestors at Palestine solidarity marches have more and more often been seen carrying banners and repeating slogans expressing their appreciation to Yemen, one of the few countries in the world to offer full and meaningful solidarity to the people of Gaza over the last 18 months.

Today I (Joti Brar) talked to Garland Nixon about the fundamental difference between charity and solidarity, and why it REALLY matters.

We discussed the latest developments in Burkina Faso, where 700 north Korean commandos have been sent to help guard the revolutionary leadership and the country’s vital infrastructure – and to transfer vital knowledge about how to build a secure anti-imperialist country in the face of incessant assassination and coup plots from the nefarious western regimes, which are desperate to stop Burkina’s sovereigntist project from succeeding, and its dangerous (to their profits) example from spreading (as it is already doing).

We talked about the vital role being played by the DPRK – now the longest-lived socialist country on Earth – in strengthening the anti-imperialist camp. Its understanding of the essential need for solidarity has always been put into practice (see transfer of tunnelling expertise to the middle east for just one key example) and it has NEVER, in 76 years, bowed the knee to the imperialists.

We also touched on what we learned from Victory Day (9 May), some of the lessons to be learned by anti-imperialists from the fall of Syria, and the vital role of workers in the west if we going to finally bring down the imperialist system, which is long past its sell-by date but clinging on using its mountains of cash and creating oceans of blood.

Today’s Trotskyites claim to be the ‘true inheritors’ of VI Lenin, faithful upholders of revolutionary Leninist ideology and of the Bolshevik organising tradition which brought us the world’s first socialist state in 1917. But in reality their organisations and leaders play the role of agent provocateur in the working-class movement, just as Trotsky did throughout his lifetime.

By consistently denigrating and opposing the forces that actually fight imperialism, whether at home or abroad, Trotskyism works to mislead potential revolutionaries and prevent them from making any meaningful contribution to the struggle for socialism. Despite their constant calls for strikes and uprisings ‘now’, no Trotskyist group has ever led a successful movement against capitalism in over a century of revolutionary posturing.

More than that: Trotskyism has actively impeded all such struggles. By re-packaging imperialist lies in ‘Leninist’ phrases, Trotskyists promote ‘analyses’ and slogans that mislead and confuse rather than educating, and they engage in activities that are designed to prevent any advance of the working class.

In Britain today, their practical programme amounts to support for the imperialist Labour party, support for imperialist wars, and implacable hostility toward genuine revolutionaries. A plethora of Trotskyist organisations are funded by the British state and promoted by British corporate media: one of many strategies used by the capitalist class to sabotage the efforts of the workers to rise to the position of ruling class and build a bright socialist future.

The USA wants a better ‘division of labour’ in Ukraine, but its hopes of future victory are still founded in self-serving delusions. A destroyed Ukrainian M1 tank in Kursk, which has been a cemetery for troops and materiel alike. The aim of the imperialists on both sides of the Atlantic remains the total subjugation and destruction of both Russia and China, simply because the depth of their economic crisis requires such a bonanza in order to revitalise saturated markets and stave off economic catastrophe. Workers must ask themselves whether they are prepared to pay the blood price demanded in the interests of maintaining the current exploitative relations.

President Lukashenko has helped his country defy all the odds and repel all attempts to turn it into a vassal state with a broken economy and a comprador ruling elite. Rather than allowing its people to be turned against one another and transformed into cannon fodder for imperialist wars, Belarus has steered its own course and built further on the industrial and agricultural base it inherited from the Soviet Union.

Does the dismantling of part of the USA’s regime-change machinery really mean that US imperialism no longer aims to bring down sovereign states? While liberal politicians and media were screaming blue murder about the harms being done to those waiting for American charity in order to survive, a very revealing list of media outlets around the world were forced to shut up shop, revealing the breadth of US imperialism’s regime-change machinery and the insidious nature of much media that is presented to the world as ‘independent’ and ‘objective’.
