My guest today is Jordan Travers.
At a young age, Jordan wanted to be a marine biologist, but after being in a serious scooter accident, he spent about a year recovering both physically and mentally.
During this time, surrounded by health care professionals, Jordan decided to change his career plans.
A couple of years after his accident, Jordan started his personal training career at one of the most prestigious gyms in Australia, 5th element.
He quickly climbed the ranks from the juice bar to a level 3 5th Element personal trainer.
He was passionate about personal training, and he was going above and beyond to deliver client results. Like so many of us.
In 2017 he published a book, man alive, about his story and his passion for men's health.
By the end of 2017, he was absolutely cooked, his words. So he decided to let his in-person clients go and focus on a corporate wellness program.
Jordan is now working as a health and P.E teacher as well as running rights of passage retreats for young men. Jordan's passion for health is evident in everything he does.
Jordan shares his journey and reflects on what he might have done differently if he had his time again.
We talk about the long hours, the endless opportunities, always saying "yes", sacrificing his health and happiness for the job, the toxic nature of social media in the health and fitness space, building a brand, and so much more.
Jordan also managed to turn the microphone around and ask me some powerful questions during this podcast. I got a little emotional when he asked me why I do what I do. Part of me wanted to take this out of the podcast, but another wanted to be vulnerable and authentic, so I left most of it in there.
Anyway, I hope you enjoy this podcast. Please feel free to leave a review and share this podcast with those who might find it helpful.
