  • Yeoh Part 4: We Need a SUPERCOP!

Are you ready for pure awesome chaos?!?! Are you ready to see Michelle Yeoh and Jackie Chan slap the living daylights out of each other in a manner that can only make you laugh?! How about a movie that almost cost both these stars their lives? Then you, my friends, need to watch Supercop, a movie about a story that really doesn't matter as much as the martial arts, stunt work, and explosions. Need we say more? I didn't think so.

  • Yeoh Part 3: James Bond Finds a Stealth Boat!

Check in with Q Branch and grab those fancy phones and BMWs, it's time for a Pierce Brosnan James Bond Extravaganza, but more importantly, Michelle Yeoh is a Chinese media employee. . . or is she? From terrorist farmers markets in the mountains to death by sea drill, we cover everything Tomorrow Never Dies has to offer. We must admit, most of the episode is just us laughing, but it really is a fun movie. I mean how DO they know what height to set the wire cutters in the car badge? Where DO the rockets fit in the car ceiling? Why DOES Elliot Carver have porn mags in a top secret safe? So many questions and so few answers.

  • Yeoh Part 2: Crazy HAWT Asians

Welcome back to our celebration of all things Michelle Yeoh, this time as the reigning Ice Queen of Singapore, wielder of the Ring of Power. Erin has several rants about Nick, Brennan gets anxiety from a bachelor party, and both have a few things to say about evil grandmas. When we're not being drawn in by some of the most beautiful people (Gemma Chan, you glorious goddess), we're rolling around laughing at some of our favorite comedians (Awkwafina, Ronny Chieng, and Jimmy O. Yang). This week's episode is brought to you by 1.2 million dollar earrings hidden above a mirror, a clothing montage, and the rainbow sheep of the family.

  • Yeoh Part 1: Crying Tiger Hidden Tissues

We start our marathon of Michelle Yeoh Appreciation Month with one of the best movies ever made. Crouching Tiger, Hidden Dragon is easily in the upper echelons of film and our red eyes are proof. We talk about the divide between duty and freedom, how angry Erin gets about Jen, and Brennan says a lot about Han things (but this time it isn't about who shot first). Erin, as in any film, get excited about hot guys on horses flaunting their bare chests to the Western desert skies. But really, this film is about two people trying to confess to one another, though we're sure they already know. In the end, we all need a Sir Te in our lives to give us an earful when we're being idiots.

  • It's GOJIRA You Moron!!

Set your Geiger counter to 1998 and join us as we watch an Iguana-saurus Rex terrorize the Big Apple! We have ourselves a Godzilla movie that managed to anger everyone except for the kids that were too young to understand why it's bad (Erin and Brennan). We are now however, old enough to see the nuclear fallout for what it is: a lackluster script, a knockoff SJP as the whining love interest, and really long chase scenes. Thank the heavens for the mysterious Jean Reno and perfectly cast Hank Azaria to lift this film from the fishy ruins of the New York subway system.

  • Reality Bites: Justice for Michael!

We turn this week to learn more about Erin's youthful indiscretions. Brennan sees boyfriends of Erin's past with all the red flags and we wonder if maybe Ethan Hawke is a culmination of all Erin's boyfriends. This is becoming a very telling episode, AKA, "a dramatic takedown of my life." We have Winona Ryder, Ethan Hawke, Janeane Garofalo, and Steve Zahn as young college graduates fulfilling part 2 of any coming-of-age story, what do we do when the real world rears its head? Winona must choose between the pretty philosophical jerk and the kind but dorky guy with a stable job (go with the one with the job!). But really Winona deserves better than all of them (Keanu Reeves).

  • Wayne's World: Robots and Foxy Ladies

Party on, Erin! Party on, Brennan! It's time to plug our amps in and rock out to the 1992 SNL skit turned feature film, Wayne's World! In week 2 of Erin's Birthday World, we find ourselves magnetically drawn to Tia Carrere, repulsed from Rob Lowe, and laughing uncontrollably by Dana Carvey. It's a movie that is chocked full of jokes and surprise appearances like Alice Cooper, historian extraordinaire, and the T-1000 itself, Robert Patrick. Have YOU seen this boy? So grab some doughnuts and cassette tapes and let's head bang to Bohemian Rhapsody!!

    A most excellent pod!

  • Singles: Have You Heard of 'Grunge'??

It's the new year and that means that it's time to celebrate Erin! This year, she's decided to lead you all on a guided tour of her Grunge obsessions AKA Layne Staley. We discuss Cameron Crowe's meet-cute comedy about this tiny scene in Seattle only months before it conquered the world (literally). Who's that on the left? That's Chris Cornell! Who's that group over there? That's Pearl Jam PRETENDING to be a bad band called Citizen Dick. Who's singing in the club tonight? Alice in Chains: Erin's favorite band of all time, a point Brennan explains is the ONLY REASON WE'RE DISCUSSING THIS MOVIE. He knows his sister so well. . . . (Erin wants me to add "too well"). In the end, this movie is actually really cute with a fun story that happens to be the inspiration for 'Friends' if those characters wore flannel.

  • Jumanji: Jack Black is a WO-MAN!

Erin and Brennan get sucked into the video game Jumanji, smolder equipped and dance-battle ready! Along the way they meet up with a scaredy-cat Rock, Kevin Hart, shy Karen Gillan, and "I just woke up like this" Jack Black. One of the most surprisingly enjoyable remakes, it gifts us with grown adults play teenagers, get blown up by cake, and go toe to toe with an inconsequential antagonist (sorry Bobby). We learn everything we need to know about how to seduce a man: nibble lips, stride like a gazelle, flip hair, and touch your tongue to the roof of your mouth. OOOO BABY I LOVE YOUR WAY, EVERY DAY, YEAH YEAH!!!

  • The World Cup: Ughhhhhhhhhhh

Erin and Brennan take a moment to dust off their cleats and shin guards, the pitch ahead echoing with the roars of fans from around the world to see their heroes play. Those cheers: "WE WANT BEER!!!" The whistle blows and instead of making a start, Erin and Brennan begin to dissect the 2022 World Cup in Qatar. We discuss DESTINY, DESTINY, and Messi holding aloft the World Cup. We cheer the courage of the Iranian players, congratulate Morocco for one of the greatest performances ever, and laugh that Ronaldo is just the worst person. At the end, we have a greater kinship with John Oliver and his disdain for FIFA, A.K.A. that company the fans want to give a red card to.
