  • 85. Amanda Webster: Solving Your Own Happiness Puzzle

In this episode, we're joined by Amanda Webster. Amanda is a fitness model and certified wellness coach who overcame depression on her own terms after years of being guinea-pigged on anti-depressants, losing her parents and succumbing to addiction and self-harm led her to a ledge in a Canadian hotel room where she almost took her life. After a year and a half of self-discovery and making healthy changes in her life, she was decertified as having a Serious Mental Illness (SMI) by the professionals that told her it wasn't possible. Now, she is passionate about helping others who struggle to find balance and live their most fulfilling lives through her Happiness Boost program.

    • 84. Michelle Myrick: Turning on Your Inner Light: Living a Life that Excites You

In this episode, we're joined by singer, songwriter, artist and coach Michelle Myrick. Michelle was born and raised at Cape Pine Lighthouse in Newfoundland, Canada and currently lives in Norway. She has been a  musician for the majority of her life, but when she took up painting a few years ago, everything seemed to fall into place. Painting opened a new door of self-discovery – a door that led to greater awareness of how unresolved trauma and self-doubt had been holding her back. Through visual art, she began to see the hidden gifts within her experiences, and the deeper meaning they held for her life.

In 2018, Michelle brought her message to audiences in her powerful show, “The Song Series” – a live performance where she presents her original songs, the paintings she created based upon them, and the stories and experiences behind them – a show she still performs internationally. Inspired by the relatable lessons within the “Song Series”, audiences asked for more. So, in August 2019, she released her first book, a memoir: “Stepping Stones – From Self-doubt to Self-belief: Finding Meaning and Purpose for your Life” as well as a full-length recording of original music, “Songs from the Song Series”.

The story doesn’t end there. In fact, it’s the beginning of another new chapter. This year, Michelle achieved certification as a life coach, and launched her first coaching program “Be the Lighthouse”.

      In this episode, we explore:

      • Creativity
      • Learning to trust yourself
      • Finding your passion
      • and loads more.

                        • 77. Micha Goebig: Overcoming Perfectionism and Imposter Syndrome - The Role of Unlearning

In this episode, we're joined by Coach, Speaker and Author Micha Goebig. Micha is an efficient, pragmatic and solution-driven coach and shares that approach in the episode. Born and raised in Germany, Micha is on a mission to make women more selfish, as in: help them see they need to put their oxygen mask on first. She excels at helping female professionals unlearn what holds them back and rewrite their story so that they can change the world, one boardroom at a time.

Micha's UNLEARN Series comprises four main topics: imposter syndrome, the inner critic & (negative) self-talk, perfectionism, and self-sabotage. Her second focus area is habits & routines: quit over-drinking, smoking, overshopping ("Year without ..."); build healthy habits; establish a morning/evening routine.

In this episode we dive into both of these areas. What does it mean to unlearn? How can we overcome perfectionism and imposter syndrome? How can we build new habits? And we talk about the importance of self-awareness, one of our fave topics on the show.

In this rare (nowadays) solo episode, Hannah reflects on her journey with depression. Hannah has lived with depression for over a decade. This has ranged from deeper depressive periods to lower level low mood. In 2017 she realised that for the past 10 years she hadn't really been ok and set out to change that - she wasn't ok with not being ok. It's an ongoing journey to manage her depression (and anxiety). In this episode, Hannah reflects on depression, in particular, what is self-stigma? What impact does it have? What does depression look like? And how is self-help sometimes harmful for depression. She reflects on the balance between being kind to yourself and challenging yourself to make life changes.
