NOTES AND COMMENTARY
VOICE IN THE WILDERNESS: Cheryl Kerr
PSALMIST IN THE FIELD: Richard Bruxvoort Colligan
SUMMARY:
John 21:1-19 is the 'appendix' of the gospel, as seven disciples go fishing. Once again, they do not recognize him, but when the net overflows the realize it is the Risen Christ in their presence. What's up with 153 fish? Why did Jesus ask Peter that question three times? Many people call the Acts text "Paul's conversion," but is that really the case? First of all, Paul never believes that he stops being Jewish. Secondly, his transformation hasn't happened yet. Plus we have a great piece by Cheryl Kerr on Revelation 5 and Richard BC shares a nugget on Psalm 30.
NOTES AND COMMENTARY
John 20:19-31
Revelation 1:4-8 with Susan Presley and Max Hazell
Acts 5:27-32
SUMMARY: It's the second Sunday of Easter, so of course we have some Doubting Thomas. But of course we must ask, "who exactly is he doubting?" Thomas doubted the other 10, not Jesus. Our Acts discussion centers on Peter's speech about Christ Resurrected! It's not about passing blame, but declaring what is happening now. Plus Max and Susan bring their creative best to an introduction to our introduction to Revelation.

Summary:
In this episode Eric and Robb pretty much go it alone. We talk about Palm Sunday, especially some of the literary context around the story of Jesus' entry. We ask a few quesions, like "Where are the palms?" "Where are the hosanas?" And we ponder if we should extend the reading one more verse. Then we talk a little about Maundy Thursday and Good Friday.
In this first episode of the E and Me Podcast, Robb and his daughter Elizabeth introduce the concept of the show. Then they talk about body image, beauty, and fitness. They pause a few times during the episode to allow you to think about some discussion questions they ask like, "What is beauty?" and "What do you see when you look in the mirror?"

VOICE IN THE WILDERNESS: Nelson Pierce Jr.
PSALMIST IN THE FIELD: Richard Bruxvoort Colligan
SUMMARY
In this episode we discuss Mary "wasting" her oil on Jesus' feet. There is a line at the end of this passage that some feel gives us a reason to not be in ministry with the poor. To be blunt, these people are wrong. We also discuss Paul's passage about sanctifying grace. Plus Nelson Pierce has a prophetic word on Isaiah, and Richard brings us another beautiful commentary on the Psalms.

VOICE IN THE WILDERNESS: Casey Fitzgerald
PSALMIST IN THE FIELD: Richard Bruxvoort Colligan
In this episode Casey Fitzgerald shares a compelling and convicting commentary on Joshua 5. Then we move into one of the most beloved stories of the Bible, the prodigal son (or is it the prodigal father?). 2 Corinthians is an important piece of our understanding of the mission of the church. We are reminded that we are in the ministry of reconciliation, and it is easy to see how others should reconcile. It is much harder when we are the ones needing reconciliation. Finally, Richard shares part four of this Lenten Psalm series on trust.

NEW PODCAST TO CHECK OUT: The E and Me Podcast
In this episode we have an inspiring and uplifting piece from Tremaine Combs on Isaiah 55:1-9. We then move into the Gospel of Luke, where Jesus seems to have a very harsh parable about sinfulness and the fig tree, but also counters the notion that all suffering is because God is punishing sin. The letter to the Corinthians takes this discussion of sin and suffering a little further. Richard Bruxvoort Colligan continues his Lenten Psalms series on Trust.
