I got a DM the other day from Noah Tondari asking why I have a separate Instagram page for the podcast and one for me personally. Great question that I thought some of you guys + gals might care to hear or learn why.
I think it's super important to separate your business & personal branding. In my case, some people might want to follow/see just podcast content and on the other hand they might just want to follow/see "Bobbay" content. Of course we want people to love both but that's not how it works.
Separate business + personal branding. It will payoff in the long haul.

Justin Escalona is a YouTuber, filmmaker, entrepreneur, model and soon to be A&R. He’s the creator of YouTube series “Daily Docs” and the founder of 1340 Collective. He has brand deals with Axe, Reebok and was even the face of Journey’s which landed him on the front cover of their magazine.
Raised in Palatine, Illinois, hockey and film were two of his biggest passions. After being rejected by every film school he applied to, he got accepted to the University of Southern California and headed west for college.
Wanting to force himself to create on a daily basis he launched “Daily Docs” documenting his life in Los Angeles. Fast forward to Season 4 that fired up in August, the series has completely elevated as he travels to different cities, concerts and events throughout the country.
His clothing brand 1340 Collective started in his dorm room and has grown into a Million dollar business. He held his first pop-up shop on Melrose here in LA back in July and looks to bring this idea to other cities in the future.
What’s next for him? Full Circle, a tv series about things he enjoyed growing up and how it’s shaped him into who he is today as well as Escalona Music Group, an A&R group that helps connect young artists with the right people.
In this episode Justin discusses if you’re confident with what you do people will respect you, take time to build relationships with your customers, don’t put all your eggs into one basket, treat everyone with the same respect and be open to the roller coaster.

Ryan Westberg is the Co-Founder of Serengetee, a lifestyle brand that incorporates fabrics from all over world into their products. Since launch, he as been able to travel to more than 80+ countries around the globe.
Born and raised in Fairfield, CT his dream job as a kid was to live in New York City, wear a fancy suit and work on Wall Street. Even walking onto campus his freshman year at University of Arizona (Tuscon) he was unsure of what he was going to do. It wasn’t until he spent a semester at sea with 400 other students traveling to 13+ countries did it all come together.
On the last night of the trip he and his Co-Founder Jeff Steitz decided they were going to launch Serengetee. The plan was that they would sew the fabrics they had collected onto their clothes so that people could “Wear The World”. They also decided that they would donate a percentage of profits to organizations in the region where that piece of fabric was from. 6+ years later, they’ve expanded to more than just clothes and continue to grow with new products .
In this episode he discusses the hustle and grind it took to get to where he is today. Having their website crash 4 times because a product was featured in a Jimmy Tatro video. Helping Rosa, a Guatemala native get through high school and nursing school as she supplied materials for Serengetee. Redefining success as being in control of everyday and traveling more while giving back.

For our second Groupisode we brought in three recording artists, Abstract (Ep 96), Dylan Reese (Ep 26 + Gp 1) and Ryan Oakes (Ep 61) who’re touring nationwide on their triple co-headliner tour, Virtual Reality which stops in 22 cities.
Abstract who grew up in Jackson, WI , Dylan Reese from Chicopee, MA… 413 stand UP and Ryan Oakes from Northern Virginia all met over the internet and were able to come together and cross off their lifelong dream of touring the nation. With no booking agent, label or funding they looked to their inner circle to help put this together.
Matt Keene handled booking and logistics of shows, Ryan Pod came on as their tour manager, Big Drip handled the merch, DJ Kode Break got the house rocking and Kyle Downes was in charge of photo & video.
In this episode they discuss how they first got inspired to start making music, what has changed the most about them along their career, what the first 16 shows of the tour were like, hardest lesson they’ve learned in the music industry thus far and one thing they’d like to see happen in their careers that hasn’t happened yet.

We all have different ambitions and goals but I think as humans it's our job to somehow/someway leave this earth a better place than when we arrived.
Some will affect the masses and some will only affect a handful but if we all play our roll and do good for this world, we will leave behind something very special.
This podcast was inspired by the passing of Mac Miller. 26 years young but this man impacted millions of people which I think is absolutely beautiful. May he rest in paradise.

Jakob Owens is a director, editor, adventurer, bearded brother and absolute beast from Tempe, Arizona. Today his YouTube channel “TheBuffNerds” sits at 761k subscribers with over 251+ Million views where he posts music videos, tutorials, behind the scenes and travel films.
With a passion for film, he attended Arizona State University and got accepted into their film school. While there, he was making music videos with KYLE and Futuristic as they were early on in their careers.
After graduating he moved to Los Angeles which wasn’t easy at first since he was a homebody. As he landed bigger opportunities, he knew he had made the right decision.
He credits eating healthy and working out help his creative process. When there’s downtime in between jobs, he can be found putting together PDF books for his followers, purchasing a new home (he now owns 3, 2 of which are for rent via Airbnb) or traveling somewhere in the world with his camera by his side.
In this episode Jakob discusses not reaching his full potential is what scares him the most. No matter how much time you spend on something it will never be perfect. Focusing on one task at a time is important. What can you do today that will take you one step forward and the people who really do want it can make it happen.
