Hey Winner,
In our perseverance series, last week Gillian Perkins and I talked about how to stick with your plan until you succeed (so if you didn't listen to that one yet, make sure to go back and do so because it was a great conversation).
This week we're diving into how to set yourself up for success from the start with your goals. This is a series repurposed from Gillian's podcast, Work Less, Earn More. I met Gillian when I started the journey of publishing Mind Over Marathon, and she quickly became my business mentor of mine, turned into my boss, and now I call her a friend!
Stay tuned to hear us talk about...
How you initially set yourself up with your goals is vital to your success, and I can't wait for you to hear more about this in my conversation with my business mentor Gillian Perkins!
Rooting for you ~ Gabe

Hey Winner,
It's the new year, and I'm sure you have made some new goals for yourself. Maybe you've already created a plan for how you're going to accomplish those goals. But now, it's time to put the action behind that plan so you can see progress and find finish line goals.
Over the next several weeks, I'm sharing a series of podcast episodes that my business mentor and I recorded for her podcast, Work Less Earn More.
Gillian Perkins is the founder of Startup Society, an entrepreneurial community membership focused on helping you start and grow an online business. She also hosts an entrepreneurship-focused YouTube channel with more than 600K subscribers. Gillian works closely with online business owners and aspiring entrepreneurs, teaching them how to develop passive income and flexible lifestyles. She provides expertise in creating and launching digital products.
I've had the privilege to be a success coach for her programs, and I've learned so much about business and life from her. Because of this, I'm excited to share these episodes with you.
If you're interested in turning your passion and purpose into impact and income, I encourage you to check out Startup Society! It's a great, budget-friendly way to get started with an online business. I love working inside there, and if you've been thinking about working with me, this could be a great option!
Today Gillian and I are having a conversation about how to stick with your plan until you succeed. We dive into what perseverance is and why it's an important part of the process. As you listen in today, you'll hear about...

Hey Winner,
Rather than setting New Year's Resolutions, many people now choose a "Word of the Year."
This practice is about choosing one single word to focus on for 12 full months. You plan your goals through the lens of that word. You focus through the lens of that word. You make decisions through the lens of that word.
But... this year? Count me out!
I started choosing a word for the year about 4 years ago, and I really did enjoy this practice. But sometimes I felt stuck with that word for the year (more on this in the episode). This year I wanted to do something differently, so I've chosen to let God direct my steps and choose my word (for each day) - knowing I need flexibility in the unknown.

Hey Winner,
I bet you are ready with a list of goals for the year. I bet you're excited to start. I bet your motivation is at an all-time high. This is normal when we start something new. New ideas bring about fresh excitement and engagement.
But, once all that excitement wears off, and things get hard (or they get real), it's easy to set aside that list of goals for next year. I don't want you to do this. I want you to be able to take at least one of your goals on that list of paper and to do something with it this year. I want you to start and finish the race.
That's why today I'm letting you in on 7 tips to making your goals a reality. If you know me by now, simple is my middle name (or I want it to be), so these secrets really aren't secrets, and they really are simple. They are easy to do, but they're also easy not to do. But, I am convinced if you stick with them and create a habit for each of these, you can cross that finish line strong.

Hey Winner!
What happens when God calls you to something bigger than yourself? Whether it’s missions, or starting a non-profit, or opening a business, or homeschooling your kids? It’s scary, feels impossible, puts a little fear in your step.
So how do you push forward even if you have no clue how it will come together? How will you let go of the rat race and step into that God-sized dream that seems to surpass your qualifications?
Today I have my friend Stephanie Pletka on the show to talk about just that. She’s going to help us walk through how to create a life we’ve always dreamed of (in God’s plans) no matter what we think our qualifications are.

Hey Winner!
The idea of self-care is a bit taboo these days. I’m not sure how taking care of our own needs as moms or women got labeled as “self-care” because, just as we’d take care of our kids’ needs, or we’d help our husbands out, we also need to take care of our own basic needs to show up for everyone else! It’s not selfish, it’s common sense! You don’t need commercials or speakers to give you permission to take care of yourself through “self-care.”
And that’s why today, I’m bringing on health coach Emily Nichols to talk about redefining self-care in a way that helps you to show up as the best version of yourself for your personal relationships and professional endeavors.
I want you to leave this conversation understanding that taking care of your basic needs in a holistic way is essential, and it shouldn’t be this taboo of a topic! It should just be common sense. So, are you ready?

Hey Winner,
Why do our thoughts matter? Why does our mindset matter? Why do we need to captivate our thoughts to get ourselves out of the yuck? How can this take us out of a place of being stuck? Well, today I'm sharing with you a conversation I had with my friend Cason Schulze on her podcast, Her Pursuit, and we are talking about how to practically take thoughts captive as Christian moms, why this matters, and how to get started doing it.
I know this episode will be a blessing for you as we dive into de-cluttering our thoughts, so sit back and enjoy! You may even need a notebook and pen handy for some tangible tips you can implement immediately.

Hey Winner,
How do you do it? That is a question asked of working mamas. How do I balance a career and a family. Can I have both? Do I have to pick? I’m here to tell you that you don’t have to pick, and you can have both! Sometimes we have seasons where our work is a bit busier or our family life takes more of our time, but you absolutely don’t have to – and shouldn’t have to – choose.
If you’re feeling called into the workplace, you can create a work-life balance that is sustainable for you. Does it come with challenges? Oh yeah. What doesn’t? Life is challenging! If you’re called to be a stay-at-home mama, that’s amazing! If you’re feeling called to the workplace or need to be in the workplace, God will provide a way for you to be both a good worker and a great mom.
My guest today, Susan Landers, is an example of being able to create a productive work life and great medical career while also maintaining her faith and guiding her children while they grew up in church.
Spiritual growth has been a beacon in her journey, as she has had her share of challenges, including suffering through an episode of postpartum depression at the age of 40 after the birth of her third child, and having to work with her husband through a crucial time in their marriage.

Hey Winner,
Do you ever create a list of daily habits you want to get done because you know they will help you grow and move you closer to your goals, but then you fail at getting it all in, you struggle to maintain that morning routine, and you feel like you’re falling further behind?
Yeah, I’m guilty of this too, and guilty of making myself feel guilty for not getting it all done every day. We are so good at guilting ourselves, aren’t we? You know what I’m talking about, don’t you?
Well, what if I told you it doesn’t have to be like that? What if you could create a system for yourself that actually worked and made you not only feel like your moving forward, but actually worked to grow you?
Enter the loop schedule.
Goodbye checklist mentality! Hello, intentional living!

Hey Winner,
Are you looking for time management tips to help you be more productive and make the most of each day? I'm pretty sure we all strive to be able to handle all that we can and be somewhat superwomen in our day-to-day life. However, because (most of the time) we try to do everything ourselves and be everything to everyone, we usually fall short.
This is why I wanted to bring my friend, Marta Tancula, back on the show to share her amazing tips on house management because she is great at it!
As a full-time working mom of two kids running her own side business, she has had to figure out how to balance her work with her family and not let all that she needs to get done in a day take her away from spending quality time with them.
Hope you enjoy with well-loved replay!
