  • Rich People Problems

We have a question for you today, what is your reaction when you see someone winning in life?

Do you react with jealousy, envy, and anger?

This was our experience recently when we posted a video on social media about us acquiring a property in Scotland for our daughter.

Some commentators were quick to post harsh comments without knowing our reality and our back story.

They claimed that it was nice to have such 'rich' people's problems.

In this episode, we discuss how important it is to widen your perspective around others people's achievements and what it means to move from envy and jealousy to admiration.

    Listen in!

    Key Takeaways

    - What in the world (01:37)

    - Rich people's problems (09:55)

    - Having to explain our decisions (19:00)

    - Why do we shame people for prosperity (22:20)

    - What's your response to other people winning (25:23)

    - Don't hate, be inspired (28:31)

  • Things we DON'T TALK ABOUT but desperately need to talk about!

There are several important conversations we desperately need to talk about, but we somehow avoid talking about them.

As parents, we have an obligation to talk about certain things to our kids because it's important that they hear some of these things from us rather than from their friends or from the internet.

As hard as these conversations are, we must have them to prepare and equip our kids to handle life. If you encourage honest and open communication early on, you create a great foundation to talk about hard topics.

In this episode, Eddie and I outline the 6 topics that most people avoid talking about and give you some tips on how to approach them.

    Key Takeaways

    - What in the world? (01:34)

    - What's wrong with Kanye West (06:19)

    - Freedom of speech in a social media world (10:00)

    - How to talk to kids about sex (13:47)

    - Why you must talk about money (21:28)

    - Talking about race (25:26)

    - Emotional intelligence (31:43)

    - Talking about weight and health with children (41:31)

    - How to approach the topic of death (53:24)

  • Happily Ever After!? (Yeah Right!!!)

    It's the wedding season…

Eddie is the best man for his cousin's upcoming wedding, the officiant at another wedding, while I will be the maid of honor at my sister's wedding.

This got us thinking… What are the key pillars to a successful marriage from our experience and observation that newlywed couples can benefit from.

Of course, we'll not be giving any marriage lectures at the weddings, but we thought we could share some pointers to a happy ever after.

Some of these things could have helped us avoid some mistakes we made earlier in our marriage had we had the foresight we have now.

Tune in to find out what we think.

    Key Takeaways

    - What in the world (03:48)

    - Buying a property in another country (06:11)

    - Wedding speeches (08:03)

    - Mistakes we would have avoided in marriage (11:20)

    - Aligning parenting styles (11:59)

    - What's your relationship built on? (17:30)

    - Renegotiate your marriage contract (19:14)

    - Don't lose yourself in marriage (21:35)

  • Catfish and Companies Crumbling (How to come back from ANYTHING!)

There are warning signs that the U.S. economy is headed to a recession. With the high inflation rates and higher interest rates, it doesn't look too good.

We have seen big companies laying off hundreds and thousands of employees and others crumbling under the weight of the economic troubles.

We know too well how difficult this will be for many people, including employees and small business owners.

During the last recession, we both lost our jobs, almost lost our house, and had to file for bankruptcy. It was the lowest moment of our lives.

During this period, things can almost feel insurmountable, but if there's one thing we can encourage you with is that you WILL overcome them.

If you stay within what you do, have integrity, and go after it every day, you'll definitely find your way back, just like a slingshot pulls backward to go a greater distance forward.

Tune in as we discuss how to respond when the odds are against you. And how it's never too late to make a comeback!

    Key Takeaways

  • What are you willing to COMPROMISE??

How many times do you find yourself compromising your comfort?

If you want to have a great time in different situations and have healthy relationships with people, some compromises will have to be made.

Sometimes, people may do things you are not comfortable with, maybe different cultural experiences, but you have to go along with it.

Recently, I was at my sister’s bachelorette party and henna party, and even though it was a very different experience for us, we still found a way to enjoy it.

You don’t want to be the Debbie Downer or complainer in every situation just because things haven’t gone exactly as you’d have wanted.

You might then ask, where do you draw the line on what you can compromise on? The answer is simple…

Tune in to this episode as Eddie and I talk about compromises and share some experiences on making compromises to enjoy the situation and where to draw the line.

    Key Takeaways

    - What 3 foods would you live without? (02:38)

    - What in the world (09:50)

    - How many times do you find yourself compromising (23:02)

    - Compromises directly affect the enjoyment of a situation (24:45)

    - Successful bachelorette party (28:13)

    - Times when you should compromise your comfort (30:39)

    - Immersing yourself fully in an event (34:11)
