We’ve all met that person who is always negatively talking about themselves and downplaying everything about them.
That person might even be you. You might be doing it to hide insecurities you are dealing with or from a lack of self-esteem.
This disparaging thought pattern is not just simple talk, though. It affects us in a very profound way. When we do it long enough, it becomes our belief system to the point that it limits our potential.
Negative self-talk may hinder our ability to seize opportunities by making us wrongly think they are not for us. Also, people around you will no longer believe in you if only what they hear from you is negative self-talk.
In this episode, Eddie and I give you tips to create better self-love habits to build esteem and get you from the negative self-talk habit limiting your abilities.
Key Takeaways
- What in the world (04:36)
- What perception do you have of yourself (17:02)
- Dealing with insecurities (22:45)
- Are you projecting (29:12)
- How to improve your self-talk (35:39)
- Don’t allow your self-talk to become your belief system (36:11)
- Create better self-love habits (40:22)
- Build Kanye level confidence (46:18)

Hard times are a common part of life. Some of us have gone through them, are going through them right now, or will go through them in the future.
Eddie recently saw a homeless man holding a sign reading Hard Times Stole MY Pension and Car.
This got us thinking….
When we look at all the hard times we have been through, you’ve heard us talk about them here on this podcast, things like losing jobs and filing for bankruptcy. What got us out of them was taking ownership.
As difficult as it is to take responsibility for things that don’t seem to be in your control, ask yourself what you could have done differently will help you get back up stronger.
Blaming external factors and feeling like a victim won’t get you far, no matter how unfair the circumstances might seem.
Tune in to this episode to learn how you can take ownership of your situation, learn the lessons, and recover even stronger than before.
Key Takeaways
- What in the world (01:30)
- Find ways to take ownership of your current situation (06:11)
- What would your homeless sign say? (11:54)
- Hard times are real (18:11)
- Showing empathy and helping others (22:11)
- How to advocate for yourself (27:47)
- Owning your hard times (33:51)
- It may not be your fault; take responsibility still (34:23)

Losing STINKS. Nobody wants to experience the emotions that come after a tough loss.
But sometimes, losing is better than winning because we can take many great lessons that can ignite our drive in other areas of life.
When we get used to winning, we can become complacent and limit our potential. Losing challenges us to evaluate what happened and what we can do differently next time.
These are important lessons that shape us to become better champions. That’s why all great champions had lost numerous times before, which made them who they are.
In this episode, we discuss the value of losing, the lessons we can take, and why sometimes it’s not all about winning.
Tune In!

We are ALL guilty of overthinking something, especially when we are about to make a big move. But some people tend to get stuck and let the overthinking paralyze their decision-making.
Most of the time, overthinking is not positive. We are mainly obsessed with all the bad things that could happen.
In this episode, we discuss the paralyzing effects of overthinking and perfectionism. We give you 8 steps to defeat those emotions and put you in action.
The first step is recognizing that failure leads to greatness.
Think of any great person you admire….for them to become great, they failed more times than most average people are ever willing to try, and that’s why they succeeded.
You’ve got to accept that once you start something new, you’ll initially SUCK at it, and that’s OKAY.
Tune in to this episode to learn how not to OVERTHINK everything and get into action.
Key Takeaways
- Failure leads to greatness – be ready to suck (16:49)
- Eliminate perfectionism from your desires (19:17)
- Change your ‘what ifs’ to ‘why nots’ (23:02)
- Hypothesis, test, verify – Become a scientist (27:23)
- Done is better than perfect when perfect is not done (30:08)
- Just take the first step- action creates lots of clarity (32:49)
- Think of who you’ll become while on this journey (34:35)
- Be outcome driven – understand what you want (38:04)

Mother's Day is around the corner…. But to some mothers, this day might SUCK.
Seriously, even with all the good intentions that surround this day, do we ever pause to think about what mothers truly want on this day?
But before that, let's take a step back and trace where it all began and what it's all about.
Mother's Day was conceived by Anna Jarvis in the 1900s to honor mothers for the sacrifices they make for their children.
In this episode, Eddie and I give you 5 tips on how to celebrate Mother's Day in a way that honors and acknowledges the important role that mothers play.
Pro Tip: Don't ask what she wants; figure out yourself and plan something for once!
For many mothers, it winds up being just like any other day, where they do all the work and the planning, even on a day meant to celebrate them.
