If you are a small business owner, you know that sometimes things do always go well from a customer service standpoint.

You are bound to drop the ball and disappoint some customers. You might miss an order, run late, or even offer an overall bad experience. Sometimes you get away with it because your existing customers are patient with you, but this can eventually run you out of business.

Recently, I experienced such an unbelievably bad experience from a new hairstylist that I thought it was a teachable moment for other small business owners.

The Copeland household finally got hit with Covid. This is not how we planned to start the year, but…it happened. 

Luckily for us, we didn’t get major respiratory issues and didn’t need hospitalization. 

This is an important episode as the Covid cases are skyrocketing here in California and the entire country. Many people have their travel plans disrupted or canceled. It’s easy to get angry or even bitter at this situation. 

However, we share our story and how we pushed through to encourage you in whatever situation you are in. It might be Covid or another setback you are facing, but it will all come to pass. 

We are not always in control, even with the best-laid plans. Rather than being angry when things don't turn out how we wanted, it’s better to surrender to what is not in your control.

Have you already set your New Year resolutions?

If the last two years are anything to go by, we have learned that even the best-laid plans can be disrupted by unforeseen scenarios.

But does this doesn’t mean we live with no aspirations? The answer is NO!

'Tis the season! 

The holiday season is here with us, but as we make merry and celebrate, many people are stressing during this time for one reason or another. 

Some people might be lonely and dealing with a loss. The holiday season reminds them of this reality when they see other people enjoying this time with their families. 

Holidays trigger different things for different people. Some may not feel as festive as others due to the pressures and expectations surrounding this time. 

For instance, gift-giving can be stressful for people who are not in a good financial position.

To other people, the pressure to please family and friends is just too much.
