Qasim Rashid is a political candidate running for office as a Democrat for the Virginia Senate. Qasim is an author, attorney, and human rights activist. He is a Muslim of a branch of Islam you might not have heard of before. He also has a podcast with a friend where one of their goals is to remind us all that Muslims, Christians, and Jews used to get along better than we seem to lately. Qasim is a big believer in the power of dialogue between different kinds of people as a means of bringing a better and more loving world into being which, makes him a perfect fit for this show.

Much of what is missing in the political discourse in our country at the moment is serious and civil engagement about the issues that matter to us all.
