Stephan Hoda was our guest for the Gemini New Moon community conversation at Embodied Astrology; the edited version is what we’re releasing with today’s Sagittarius Full Moon. Stephan teaches Science and Classical Mythology, and is the associate director of the Queer Screams Film Festival in Portland OR. 

Between Stephan’s Gemini rising, Sagittarius Sun and stellium, and Renee’s 4-planet stellium in Sag and 3 placements in Gemini, their conversation spans a wide range of topics! From current astrology to ancient mythology, water systems science, middle school education, queer imagination and some of the standout archetypes of the horror genre, including “the final girl.” We hope this conversation leaves you feeling curious about your own chart placements, and excited by the ways that archetype and imagination meet through astrology.

Every month in 2025 we’re hosting guests to drop in with us for some seasonal exchange and astrological exploration. Many of these events are free for our members, offered by sliding scale to the public, and a third of the proceeds are redistributed in a mutual aid direction of our guest’s choice. Proceeds from this event went to the Florida Springs Institute, helping protect Florida’s springs and waterways through science and education.
