I've been using Lightroom for years. Today is the first day I seriously considered switching.

I'm a fledgling channel, a startup in the parlance of or times, and am struggling with making a living with my content and as a social media startup. It would mean the world to me if you would consider supporting me. If you find my content valuable in any way, please consider supporting me with $1 a month on Patreon. You may of course donate more than that, but a dollar a month will go a long way to helping me to keep going. Click this link to find out how to help me that way.

Another option is to consider using affiliate links when you purchase from Amazon. If you use one of those links to visit Amazon, anything you buy during that visit will trigger a small commission for me that would help me out. I'd really appreciate your consideration. You can also see what gear I'm using to make my content if that sort of thing interests you. I know I enjoy looking at what other creators are using! Here is my gear.
    Thank you.

  • Episode 66: Dark Sky Said 'Go Out Now!'
What is it with notifications and lack of focus and attention. Are they correlated? I think so! But first, a chat about last night's gig in Crofters Music Bar. It was really fun and I talk a bit here about anxiety and what I do with it.

  • Episode 63: Focus and Perspective
Walking the dogs before the rain, which became in the rain. Do I need to be tracking all our Amazon purchases in our accounts?

Why is my mind so flighty?

  • Episode 62: Buying Power
This is a general chat about my day in the freelance world. I spent five hours in Crofters' on meetings and recording and then walked the dogs in silence. That was productive. I got to thinking about planning and short-term goals and KPIs. It's a bit businessy, but it did show me the value of walking without audio playing in my ears.

  • Episode 60: Fountain Pen Love
I had a very good week as a freelancer. There's been lots going on, including a new fountain pen! Yay! I got a Cross ATX at half-price from Paperchase in Glasgow, and a stone paper A5 notebook that's a dream to write in with a fountain pen.

Apps I'm using for social media management are ContentCal and Agorapulse.

  • Episode 59: Soulfood is Important
I saw Joker at the mobile cinema on Arran. It was a spur-of-the-moment decision and it got me thinking about taking breaks and how important it is to consume content for its own sake. John Spencer, who played Leo McGarry in The West Wing, gave some lovely feedback to Teri Polo, who played Helen Santos, and it had me tearing up to hear that on the West Wing Weekly podast. Again, that shows the importance simply of unplugging from the business hustle and taking in some soul food.

So, ping! I'm awake. Might as well get up. My head is so busy and I talk about how flighty my mind is and how I sit down to do one thing and end up doing quite another.

Check out Madalyn Sklar, whom I mention in the episode. Her content has been rather helpful over the past few days.
