In the eighth episode of Ramayan, Rama successfully strings the unlifted bow and breaks it, winning the Swayamvar competition and earning the right to marry Sita. The episode begins with a celebration of Rama's victory, as he is honored with a Jai Mala ceremony and garlanded by Janak and the other dignitaries.

As preparations are made for Rama and Sita's wedding, Rama's father King Dasharath visits Janak's palace with his wives and retinue. However, his arrival is overshadowed by the news of a terrible omen: Dasharath has had a nightmare in which he sees Rama leaving Ayodhya and entering into the forest. The king is deeply disturbed by this vision and seeks counsel from his advisors, who warn him of an impending danger to Rama's life.

Despite these ominous signs, Rama and Sita are formally engaged in a ceremony where they exchange garlands and are blessed by the assembled gods and sages. The episode ends on a cliffhanger, as a mysterious figure appears in the crowd and threatens to disrupt the wedding ceremony.

As the eighth episode of the Ramayan TV show, this installment builds on the previous episode's dramatic events and sets the stage for even greater conflicts and challenges. It also highlights the depth of Rama and Sita's love and their commitment to each other, despite the obstacles they will soon face.

आज सीता स्वयंवर का दिन है। जनकपुरी में चारों ओर उमंग का वातावरण है। राम लक्ष्मण स्वयंवर में जाने की तैयारी करते हैं। लक्ष्मण बड़े भाई राम को विश्वास दिलाते हैं कि स्वयंवर में वे ही विजयी होंगे। शहनाई, तुरही और शंख ध्वनि के साथ स्वयंवर प्रारम्भ होता है। कई राज्यों के राजा इस स्वयंवर में भाग लेने आये हैं। उनकी दम्भपूर्ण और ललकार भरी बातों से जनक कुछ परेशान से होते हैं। तभी विश्वामित्र राम व लक्ष्मण के साथ सभा में प्रवेश करते हैं। जनक का चेहरा खिल उठता है। वे आगे बढ़कर उनका स्वागत करते हैं। राजाओं के बीच कौतूहल उपजता है लेकिन वे आश्वस्त हैं कि सुकोमल दिखने वाले राम लक्ष्मण शिव धनुष को हिला भी न पायेंगे। सीता को स्वयंवर स्थल पर लाया जाता है। चारण और भाटों की एक टोली राजा जनक की प्रशंसा में एक गीत गाती है। एक चारण अपने गीत में वहाँ रखे शिव धनुष को इंगित कर राजा जनक का प्रण बताता है कि इस पर प्रत्यंचा चढ़ाने वाले पराक्रमी के साथ सीता का विवाह होगा।

वहाँ उपस्थित राजा और क्षत्रिय अपना बल और पराक्रम दिखाने बारी-बारी से आते हैं लेकिन शिव धनुष को अपने स्थान से हिला तक नहीं पाते। राम और लक्ष्मण शान्त रहते हैं। लेकिन ये दृश्य देखकर सीता की माँ सुनयना चिन्तित हो जाती है। कई राजा एक साथ मिलकर धनुष उठाने को आगे आते हैं लेकिन जनक इसे अपमानपूर्ण मानकर रोक देते हैं।

राजा जनक सभा को निराशाजनक स्वर में सम्बोधित करते हुए पछतावा करते हैं कि उन्होंने इस प्रण को ठानकर अपनी पुत्री के विवाह को कठिन बना दिया है। वे सवाल उठाते हैं कि क्या पृथ्वी वीरों से खाली हो चुकी है। जनक के यह वचन लक्ष्मण को तीर की तरह चुभते हैं। वे उठकर जनक को टोकते हुए कहते हैं कि उन्हें याद रखना चाहिये कि इस सभा में सूर्यवंशी रघुकुल के युवराज श्रीराम उपस्थित हैं। भगवान शेषनाग के अवतार लक्ष्मण चुनौती देते हैं कि यदि उन्हें अपने गुरु की आज्ञा मिल जाये तो वे पूरे ब्रह्माण्ड को गेंद की भाँति उछाल कर अपना पराक्रम दिखा सकते हैं। लेकिन विश्वामित्र लक्ष्मण को आसन पर वापस आने के लिये कहते हैं। विश्वामित्र सभा के मनोभाव को पढ़ते हैं और राम को राजा जनक की परेशानी दूर करने की आज्ञा देते हैं। गुरु की आज्ञा पर राम सहज भाव से शिव धनुष के पास जाते हैं। अन्य राजा उनका उपहास उड़़ाते हैं। तमाम शंकाओं से ग्रसित महारानी सुनयना भी राम के किशोरवय को देखकर परेशान हैं। उनका मन इस स्वयंवर को स्थगित करने का है किन्तु उनकी देवरानी आशान्वित दिखती हैं और वह स्वयंवर जारी रखने का परामर्श देती हty.

In the sixth episode of Ramayan, Rama, Lakshmana, and Vishwamitra arrive at the city of Janakpur, the capital of Mithila. Janak, the king of Mithila, has announced a competition to find a suitable husband for his daughter, Sita, and many princes and kings have come to participate. Vishwamitra hopes that Rama will prove his strength and skills in the competition, and also wishes to see Sita and evaluate her qualities as a wife for Rama.

As Rama and Lakshmana enter the city, they witness the grandeur and beauty of Mithila and are impressed by its people and customs. Janak receives them warmly and invites them to participate in the competition. As the episode progresses, we see Rama and Lakshmana showcasing their skills in archery, wrestling, and other activities, impressing the assembled audience and winning the admiration of Janak.

Meanwhile, Sita also watches the competition from afar and is impressed by Rama's skill and character. She develops a deep admiration and respect for him, which will play a crucial role in their later interactions.

As the sixth episode of the Ramayan TV show, this episode sets the stage for the upcoming events in the story, as Rama and Sita's fateful encounter draws nearer.
