Coach Connie Keasling of Murray State women’s tennis will be inducted into the MSU Hall of Fame in November as just the second women's tennis coach to be so honored. On today's program, Coach Keasling talks about her 22 seasons in leading the program that produced five OVC championships and five more times of runner-up finishes. Her career was the fourth-longest tenure in MSU history when she retired in 2011. Keasling's teams also performed at a high level off the court as evidenced by 42 OVC Commissioner's Honor Roll winners and five OVC Medal of Honor winners. Her teams earned four OVC Team Sportsmanship Awards and the ITA National Team Sportsmanship honor in 2007. Also on the program today, we say a big happy birthday to former Racer Football Coach Joe Pannunzio, born on the fourth of July and Racer men's basketball senior Anthony Smith gets official notice for a fifth season after injury sidelined him in the 2918-19 season.

Marcus Brown came to Murray State in 1992 and remains as one of the great basketball players of all-time as he played for Coach Scott Edgar and finished with Coach Mark Gottfried. Out of West Memphis, Arkansas, Brown was a three time All-OVC pick and twice named OVC Player of the Year. He was inducted into the Murray State Hall of Fame in 2010 when his No. 5 was also retired. A former NBA Draft pick by the Trailblazers in 1996, Brown ended up becoming the all-time scorer the Euroleague. Among today's topics is the day he was given the job of guarding Michael Jordan, his love for Racer Nation and why he's taken on the job of coaching boys basketball at his alma mater, West Memphis High School. Also today, we wrap up Ja Morant's big week at the NBA Draft and the start of his career with the Memphis Grizzlies. Out of Palmetto, Florida, Alexis Love became one of the top sprinters in MSU history. A three-time All-America in the 100. She recently retired from her professional sprinting career that lasted six successful years. Love is a Murray State Hall of Fame pick in the class of 2019. Also on the program, we detail our plans for being in New York City this week when Racer Great Ja Morant is likely chosen as the second pick of the NBA Draft by the Memphis Grizzlies. MSU Athletics Communications Assistant, Parker Griffith, stops by the studio to put a wrap on the Racers' 2018-19 success that led to winning the OVC Commissioner's Cup and a look at what we're doing this summer to get ready for the 2019-20 go-around.

Rob Hart was Murray State's English barefoot placekicker for Coach Houston Nutt and Coach Denver Johnson for Racer Football in 1995 and 1996. Having been named in the 2019 MSU Hall of Fame class, Hart's appearance marks our first of many podcasts with the inductees as we look forward to the ceremonies in November. Hart talks of his letter-writing to American colleges as he sought the chance to kick in the states and how he finally committed to kicking without a shoe when he arrived at MSU. Hart was part of the 1996 OVC championship for the Racers which led him to a professional career in the National Football League and NFL Europe. Wayback Wednesday is from the 1996 victory for the Racers on a last second field goal from Hart at Eastern Kentucky. Also today, we'll talk about all nine inductees into the MSU Hall of Fame.

In the late 1960's a smashing running back from Shelby, Ohio arrived at Murray State. His name was Rick Fisher. A MSU hall of famer since 1981, Fisher's records with the Racers are still standing the test of time as he's still the fourth all-time rusher in program history. On today's podcast, Fisher talks of how of he came to MSU, the crazy life of professional football, his great run as head coach at Murray High School (1990-2005) and the now famous 1994 Kentucky state championship game that still has people talking because of its strange ending. Wayback Wednesday takes us back to a MSU football win at EKU in 2004 and MSU Athletics recently secured its 30th straight semester of a 3.0 GPA for its combined 350+ student-athletes.

It's a tradition on the program to have a Racer head coach join us after they win an OVC Championship. Coach Adam Kiesler's MSU track & field team won the OVC title for the first time since 1992. There is a lot to feel good about here with veterans performing well and new faces blossoming into stars before our very eyes. Also today, we'll celebrate the Racers 2019 OVC Commissioner's Cup Trophy win with Parker Griffith of the MSU Athletics Media Relations office providing insight. Ja Morant is named the OVC Male Athlete of the Year and Racer Baseball wins a game at the OVC Tournament, but wanted to stay longer. Murray State Baseball student-athlete Joe McMahon had early exposure to professional sports. He often went to work with his dad, who was the equipment manager for more than 1,000 games in the National Hockey League. That love of sports is now leading this recent MSU graduate into the National Football League with the New York Jets. McMahon's value to the team is measured in many ways and playing time isn't usually one of them. Also today, Wayback Wednesday returns to 2003, the last time MSU won the OVC Baseball Tournament and Racer fans have an NBA Draft party to attend June 20. Murray State senior Linette Holmslykke made history when she became the first OVC women's golfer to qualify for the NCAA Finals. Today she talks of her love of competition, that amazing 7-under 65 she posted at the NCAA regional and how she found her way from Denmark to Murray State. Aaron Clayton has the call on two clutch home runs for MSU Baseball's Brock Anderson and Jordan Cozart. MSU won their first OVC women's track and field title since 1992. We'll recap the great weekend for the Racers including a one-two-three finish in the Heptathlon by Aubrey Main, Jessikha Ribeiro and Ashlyn Oren. She's won 12 OVC women's golf championships and three times, her teams have won three in a row. You'll enjoy hearing the journey of 26 seasons for Murray State Coach Velvet Milkman. When she was selected to begin the women's golf program in 1993, she envisioned a successful program that would be great on and off the course. And it has as every one of Velvet's student-athletes who stayed four seasons, became OVC champions and graduated from Murray State. Murray State basketball welcomes Jason Holliday and MSU softball and track and field compete this week for OVC championships.

Brenna Finck has started every game of the 207 games she's been part of since she arrived at Murray State to play Softball in 2016. This consistent and durable third baseman is an Organizational Communications major from Maroa, Ill. She is another example of the great student-athletes that is being produced these days at Murray State.
