_____ This is a spicy show. And it's definitely gonna make more than a few people mad. But it's a message that everyone needs to hear. It's en vogue in America today for black leaders to preach a message of hopelessness and dependence. They say that a history of slavery and Jim Crow has made it impossible for black Americans to succeed today. Therefore, they say, the only solution is to "share the wealth." Which is, of course, code for more welfare programs. The problem is, those welfare programs create the impediments in the first place. By making entire generations dependent upon the state, politicians and other "leaders" have deepened wealth inequalities in America. In the sense that Jim Crow was an evolution of slavery, the welfare state is an evolution of Jim Crow. Here's the thing. Money doesn't care what color you are. It doesn't care who your parents are. It doesn't care what neighborhood you grew up in or what society says you can or can't do. The principles for acquiring wealth are the same for everyone. Therefore, everyone contains within themselves the ability to overcome their circumstances and build generational wealth. But it starts with freeing your mind from the slavery of low expectations.
