On today’s episode of Founded we’re finding out about John Hancock and his rise to political power after the repeal of the Stamp Act. Samuel Adams was beginning to lose his footing as the leader of the rabble just as parliament was planning to pass more tax acts. These new acts were written by a man who has become known for his glossary term in textbooks, The Townshend Acts. Those acts were created by no other than Charles Townshend.
