Following the National Freedom Party's no-show during the Local Government Elections, the party has now fired its former Treasurer-General, Xolani Ndlovu. According to the Acting Chairperson, Bheki Gumbi, Ndlovu has been fingered as the mastermind behind the party's failure to contest the local government elections on the 10th of August. Water consumption in the City of Johannesburg has to reduced by fifteen percent to ensure that reservoirs do not run dry. Economists say the current political instability in the country continues to erode some of the gains that have been made in some sectors of the economy. They say although this will not be reflected in the GDP figures to be released today (06/09/16), it is putting the country and its people at a disadvantage. The ANC in KwaZulu-Natal says the occupy Luthuli House protest is unnecessary. Provincial Secretary Super Zuma says members of the ANC should follow internal processes to voice their grievances. ANC youth league's national spokesperson Mlondolozi Mkhize has welcomed the decision by #OccupyLuthuliHouse organisers to discourage supporters from taking part in planned occupation of the party's headquarters. The group have attributed the ANC's dismal performance at the municipal polls to President Zuma's poor leadership and the corruption scourge afflicting government departments and state institutions.
