There were chaotic scenes in the National Assembly again yesterday afternoon. This, after EFF MPS tried again to prevent President Jacob Zuma from responding to oral questions in the house. After they refused to leave the House when ordered to do so by the Speaker Baleka Mbete, they were forcibly ejected out of the National Assembly by members of parliament's protection servces. The National Council of Provinces has passed the Expropriation Bill with the support of all provinces except the Western Cape. One of the objectives of the bill is to give the Public Works Minister the power to expropriate property on behalf on an organ of state if it is deemed in the Public interest. The University of Johannesburg has vowed to have the arsonists responsible for burning its main auditorium apprehended and brought to justice. It is believed that arsonists fire bombed Kingsway campus' main thousand seater auditorium and computer laboratories. The damage is estimated at 100 million rand. Schools in Vuwani are reported to have started on a slow pace yesterday with a low turnout and students left stranded without classes to attend to. Limpopo government says it has expected less that 50 percent turnout on the first day and that numbers to pick up as time goes on. More than 20 schools were burned down during violence, which led to a complete shutdown of schools for two weeks. This after MEC for Roads and Transport in Gauteng, Ishmael Vadi was intimidated following an announcement that his department is to start issuing licenses to Uber drivers and regulate them like metered taxis in the province.
