Singer, songwriter, actor, multi-instrumentalist.  Goes without saying that Lenny Kravitz (like Stevie Wonder and Prince before him) can do it all!  With a career spanning 40 years, 11 albums, and multiple awards, it was a given that the son of TV's Helen Willis would be thrown in the spotlight soon. This week, we shall "Dig In" to Lenny Kravitz's discography.  Tune in as I rank his albums from worst to best.  Just know "It Ain't Over til It's Over"... or at least until we reach the #1 spot!

Thank you for tuning in last week for my "Post Beatles" episode.  With that episode and all that's happening in the world and the United States, I figured it was appropriate to undertake the controversial task of ranking the albums of John Lennon.  For those of you wondering... YES! I am including the early albums he did with Yoko Ono.  But don't expect me to be nice about those.  LOL. Jokes aside, I promise a fair and balanced review of all of his work and at the same throwing in my personal opinions about each album.  Hopefully you'll tune in this week to see where your favorite ranks.

At the beginning of the series, I decided to do an episode dedicated to the discography of that little band from Liverpool known as The Beatles.  It wouldn't be long before I would start tackling their solo discographies (one will be done next week).  So while you wait tooth and nail for next week's ranking of John Lennon's discography, I figured it was time to dive into what I think are the best solo Beatles tunes (SPOILER: Ringo made the cut!).  Remember, this is my opinion and I'm entitled.  But if you pay close attention this week, you might learn something!  :)

One of the most brilliant bands in the genre of Alternative music, Dinosaur Jr. have soldiered on for almost 4 decades with their style of music ranging from lo-fi to hard rock to just plain noise (because they felt like it. :P))  It's also impressive that the 3 members that founded this band (J Mascis, Lou Barlow, and Murph) are still a cohesive unit that have appealed to fans of classic rock, grunge, and even Beavis and Butthead.  But where do their albums rank?  Tune in this week to find out where I place the 12 albums of Dinosaur Jr's career from worst to best.

25 Years ago on April 8th, the self-titled debut album from Third Eye Blind was released.  The album was both a critical and commercial hit that still holds up after all these years!  Over time, the only original members of the group are controversial lead singer/founding member Stephan Jenkins and drummer Brad Hargreaves.  Last time I tackled their discography, a new album ("Our Bande Apart") came out a mere two weeks after that episode dropped.  Since then, I vowed to rectify this situation and give all their albums another listen.  Normally, I wouldn't bother going back and re-ranking.  But I realized as I was listening to their discography... OPINIONS CAN CHANGE since last fall's episode.  So with that said, here is the very first Re-Rank episode.  This one is dedicated to Third Eye Blind.

One of the most successful platonic relationships (if not THE most successful) in music, Beach House has a habit of putting out albums that tend to induce relaxation by blocking out the negativity in the world with their dream-pop sound.  The duo has remained popular among critics and fans of alternative music for the last decade and a half.  With the release this year of their eighth album "Once Twice Melody" (An epic 80 minute album who has released albums that always FELT like epics), they achieved their first #1 album on the Billboard US Album charts.  And most likely going to end up placing very high on my year-end list.  The best description for their music: If you love Brian Wilson mixed with My Bloody Valentine and the feminine charms of girlinred and Mazzy Star, this is the band for you.  Tune in, lay back, and listen as I rank the discography of Beach House.

What hasn't been said about this band for the last 6 decades?  Hands down, one of the biggest names in both Psychedelic and Progressive Rock is Pink Floyd.  With several albums hailed by critics as masterpieces, debates over which era was the best (Syd Barrett? Roger Waters? David Gilmour?), and their place in cinema, Pink Floyd could take MULTIPLE episodes to talk about.  But I'm going to try my best to tackle their discography in one episode!  All in all it's just another band yet to rank!  :)

2 EPISODES IN ONE WEEK???  That's the beauty of having musical acts with small discographies some days.  Controversy aside (From Kurt Cobain to just plain not keeping her mouth shut the last 2 decades), Courtney Love should be recognized as one of the most iconic female artists of all time as well as the leader of THE BEST female-fronted band in the history of Grunge music.  It's been a very dizzying history for Hole with lawsuits, tragedies, and total chaos! But they have put out a small discography that deserves to be looked at again because whether Kurt wrote the lyrics or not (still up in the air), there's some good stuff on there.  And you can even thank them for bands like Halestorm, The Pretty Reckless, and Spiritbox for being as successful as they have been!  Tune in this week for a controversial ranking of an equally controversial band!

As I said at the beginning of the year, new rules will apply.  You will find that the nu-metal band from Minneapolis, MN has a very small discography.  FOUR albums total in their short career, to be exact!  While the band has been inactive since 2017, they continue to make an impact as far as being one of the most underrated and hardest in the genres of nu metal and industrial.  So which AHC album is their best?  Tune in and find out.
