It started with the dissolution of an iconic grunge band, a demo tape, and a plan to shock the musical world.  The result is 26 years, 10 albums, millions of fans worldwide, and (THIS YEAR) a Rock and Roll Hall of Fame nomination.  Since "Medicine at Midnight" dropped early this year, it seemed to make sense for me to count down from worst to best the discography of Dave Grohl and the Foo Fighters.  Tune in to see where your favorite ranks and why they're listed as they are.

For these next 2 weeks, Randumb Album Rankings will taking a look at the 20+ year career and discography of 2021 Rock and Roll Hall of Fame inductees, The Foo Fighters.  While you wait for next week's episode where I count down Foo Fighters albums (including this year's release "Medicine at Midnight", tune in this week to see what songs of theirs made my top 10 list.  Also included, the 5 worst Foo Tunes and what tracks missed the cut (Honorable Mentions).

"Last Nite" B.C. had the strangest dream!  As he was sipping a "Juicebox" and making a round of "Bad Decisions", Julian Casablancas came to him at around "12:51" and suggested he do a Randumb on The Strokes.  Julian promptly disappeared... then B.C. woke up.  It's "Hard to Explain", but if you stick around you might find where YOUR favorite Strokes albums ranks among their short, but solid discography.  

Approaching their FOURTH decade as an active rock band, the Minneapolis-based Soul Asylum continue to amaze and win over fans worldwide (even if radio opts to chase the next big sound).  Nonetheless, as their 12th studio album "Hurry Up and Wait" released last winter was any indication, Dave Pirner still has some songwriting fuel left in the tank.  But where does their latest rank?  Where do their best selling albums rank?  What about their local stuff produced by fellow Minnesotan Bob Mould?  Well, you're just gonna have to listen to B.C. and find out.  Be sure to catch the last "Runaway Train" to Randumb or you're just gonna spend the whole week in "Misery"!  ;)

Despite a small discography, this new wave band has stood the test of time and managed to still amaze listeners with each song on the radio.  "You Might Think" it's a chore to rank the discography of the band led by Ric Ocasek and Benjamin Orr, but take this "Drive" with BC, let the "Good Times Roll", and "Let's Go" count the albums down from worst to best.

TALK ABOUT RANDUMB, RIGHT???  While you wait for season 2 starting April 5th, I figured I'd treat you all to a countdown (Worst to Best) on the songs from one of my guilty pleasure albums: the soundtrack to 1989's "Ghostbusters II".  The movie may have mixed feelings from people, but the soundtrack did have a cult following and was respected a little more than the movie itself.  Besides the new jack sound and Bobby Brown's name practically all over it, there's some interesting tracks from Elton John, Glenn Frey, and even New Edition.  If you ain't afraid of no ghost (or ranking), tune in.  You may find some tracks that may stick with you by the time this episode's over.

We all know this year's nominations were not without controversy.  We also know The Weeknd was ROYALLY robbed.  74 Grammies will be handed out on March 14th! While I will not be covering all 74, I will give my predictions for a few of the categories.  Tune in and find out who I think will walk away with a Grammy or 2 this year!

After being the subject of controversy in the last few months of 2020, B.C. had no choice but to pull this episode from rotation.  It's a new year and a new you.  Therefore, back in tha game: The episode dedicated to Ice Cube.  This has been nipped and tucked from the earlier run, but the attitude and history remains the same.  Listen and enjoy.
