This week of Raw Intentions, we’ve got special guest Clara Agnes Ault, cofounder of the resale clothing app “Curtsy.” Clara and I, although in completely different fields & business models, actually had SO much in common. Throughout the episode, I felt like she was speaking out my inner, female entrepreneur monologue. From Charolette, NC and an Ole Miss alum, Clara, along with her brother & some friends, took the seed of an idea, and brought it to life. What started as a clothing rental company for SEC college campuses, (that I distinctly remember using as a Junior in college), took Silicon Valley by storm, and eventually turned into one of the largest buying & resale clothing apps on the market. This episode is FULL of incredible advice & inspiring stories. We chat about the culmination of Cursty, having cofounders, the importance of zooming out & pivoting when something isn’t working, the secret to running a successful company, company culture, work-life balance, mistakes made within business, and learning from them, and so much more. Jandro is a UC Boulder alum, and when he’s not living life on the road and in airports, he resides in Denver, Colorado. We talk about the creation of @i70things; a once random idea turned instagram account, to post funny photos he had taken while stuck in the infamous i70 traffic. What slowly grew as a side hustle in college, soon snowballed into a MASSIVE, heavily engaged community of over 350k people. Although still involved on the social media side, Jandro now breaths life into his brand- taking it off instagram, and running collaborative pop ups, and charity events. We talk business advice, shooting your shot, the creation of his company, learning from your failures, pinch me moments, balancing work with personal life, diversifying the mountain, and “Slide Through Saturdays,” his charity passion project. On today’s episode, I sit down with resident comedian and social media star, Tyler Bender. Tyler is 21 years old, born and bred in a large Mormon community, outside of Salt Lake City, Utah.  She’s been in the marketing industry since college, but always knew she wanted to do something more. With her background in theater and comedy, she decided to take to tiktok and start posting various bits and moments from her life. Pulling niche experiences and observations, and creating relatable comedy around those real life happenings. Fast forward a few years, and she’s quit her job to pursue content creation, influencing, and comedy full time. This episode was SO much fun. We talk a ton about being mormon, and why her and her family decided to leave. She tells us all the tea; polygamy, soaking, and why you aren’t allowed to go to the grocery store on Sundays. She then tells the come up story of her career- gives SO much incredible advice for anyone in a 9-5, ready to take on their own business, and go from side hustle to full time. She also has a really unique perspective on content creation; with her background in marketing, she’s much more calculated, technical, and analytical than most influencers.  This is such a fabulous, fresh perspective, and she gives us tons of industry secrets and formulas to be successful with social media. Hello & Happy Birthday to me! Not to make this about me, but it is; because I was born 29 years ago, and I want to talk about it. On today’s episode, I reflect on my 28th year, and what made it so special. I’ve learned about myself, those around me, fallen in love, met incredible people, traveled to new cities and countries, moved, started new businesses, failed a lot, cried and listened to sad music on repeat, gained new skills, hiked, skied, and played outside, challenged myself, and lots in between. I also talk about my favorite birthday rituals. Why I insist on spending my birthday totally alone, and what practices I have to make it as special, powerful, and introspective as possible.
